What a milestone!!
For 34 years, no American man managed to win the overall World Cup in cross-country mountain biking. The legends of the nineties faded, Europe took over, and the drought seemed endless.
Until now.
On October 5, Christopher Blevins from Durango, Colorado, won the World Cup race in Lake Placid and secured the overall title. The last American to do it was John Tomac in 1991.
That streak is finally broken.
Blevins didn’t just win the season. He also claimed the short-track race and the overall short-track title, making him the most dominant racer of 2025.
Growing up in Durango, surrounded by the history and trails that shaped the early icons of the sport, Blevins was destined for greatness.
He trained where legends trained and chased the dreams they left behind.
Now the future of American mountain biking looks brighter than it has in decades. And this is only the beginning.
