Dear Studio France School of Dance Families,

We want to thank every one of you for an amazing twelve years of dance! When we look back at all of the fun we have had and all of the friends we have made, it fills us with gratitude! Now we are looking towards the future and how to help our program grow!
That being said, we have some exciting news! Studio France School of Dance will be merging with Michigan Youth Ballet Theatre! The Studio will now be The Michigan Youth Ballet Theatre School and will be a non-for-profit dance program. We believe that this will streamline payment, communication, fundraising, performance opportunities, rehearsals and more.
The shift in our program will also shift some of our classes. Our program will have an even stronger ballet focus. We will not be offering tap and jazz this year, however, we ARE offering contemporary with Austin Panavong. Austin began teaching for us this spring and it was a wonderful experience for all of the students. Austin will also be performing in our 2023 Nutcracker as Drosselmeyer.
We are thrilled to have Miss Jennifer back this year teaching with us again. She returned in the spring but many people were not aware of that. She will not only be teaching but will be back as Ballet Mistress for MYBT and our Nutcracker.
Our First Steps and Little Movers classes will follow the Once Upon A Ballet fairy tale curriculum and each month, the fairy tale theme will change. We will also be using the Once Upon A Ballet curriculum for ballet one, but instead of fairy tales, the class will focus on the story ballets.
We will be sending out our schedule in the coming days. Registration dates are Thursday August 17 at 6:00pm and Monday August 21 at 6:00pm. We also checked with the homeschool co-op for those students, and we can still partner with them.

Every class should feel like a challenge! Professional ballet dancers feel challenged even in Beginner Level Ballet Classes! WHY??? Because they CHALLENGE THEMSELVES to plié, tendu, relevé the best they can, better than yesterday, every time! You need to challenge yourself that way in every class you attend.

If you tell your teacher that a class was too easy or you need a harder class to feel challenged, you are telling them something about yourself. You are telling the world that you don't understand ballet yet.

CWPAC is considering male dancers with strong classical technique and a strong contemporary background for paid contracts for the 2023-24 season. Guaranteed 30 week contracts, possibly more! Benefits include: shoes provided as needed, a gym membership, and access to paid physical therapy as well as the opportunity to live in beautiful western Colorado.

Just a reminder that we have a scheduled studio closing next week 4/24-4/29. Our Studio France/Michigan Youth Ballet Theatre dance teachers and students will be out of town attending the Regional Dance America event in Skokie, Illinois. Classes resume Monday, May 1st.

Congratulations to all our Studio France dancers that participated in Michigan Youth Ballet Theatre’s production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream! They did a fantastic job!

We are Starting a short Spring session on April 10! It is 7 weeks long (week of April 24-29 off due to dancers being at Regional Dance America). It will end June 3. This session will just include two monthly payments or you can choose to pay for the whole thing in one chunk. It's a great time to try a class if your child has been thinking about it!
