Another truly EPIC showing for Montclair HS Rowing at Henley Royal Regatta!

Last week marked a historic milestone as our men’s Varsity 8+ earned a bid to race Henley for the first time since 2018 and THREE Montclair HS Rowing alumni brought home Championships on the Thames - one of the world’s most prestigious rowing stages and pinnacles of achievement in the sport!

🏆 Alex Abuhoff MHS ’19 - Ladies’ Plate Challenge Cup with Leander Club (back-to-back wins!)
🏆 Amelia Cataldi ’20 - Bridge Cup with the University of London
🏆Madeleine Young ‘25 - Island Challenge Cup with Brown University

We’re beyond proud of our Varsity 8+ and alumni for racing their hearts out, shining on the global stage and showing the world what it means to ROW BLUE 💙

FROM THE PASSAIC TO THE THAMES: MONTCLAIR HIGH SCHOOL ROWING ARE HEADED TO Henley Royal Regatta BUT WE STILL NEED YOUR HELP!

Montclair Rowing's Men's Varsity 8+ has earned the opportunity to compete at the prestigious Henley Royal Regatta in England, one of the most iconic and competitive rowing events in the world. In a sport dominated by elite clubs and private schools, Montclair High School is one of only a select few public school rowing programs in the United States to earn a place at Henley.

However, the cost of sending our crew and coaches to Henley will be approximately $50,000 and as a public school program, we NEED YOUR SUPPORT.

A huge thank you to those who have donated thus far, but we are still a little short of our goal, so please consider a tax-deductible donation to help our team pursue the opportunity of a lifetime and represent Montclair High School on the world's largest rowing stage! COACH LORNA RUNDLE NAMED US ROWING’S SELECTION DEVELOPMENT CAMP WOMEN’S HEAD COACH!

Congratulations to Coach Lorna on her recent appointment as the Women’s Head Coach for USRowing’s 2026 Selection Development Camp (SDC) in Ypsilanti Michigan.

SDC is an invitation-only summer training camp for the nation’s most accomplished junior rowers and coxswains.

As a cornerstone of USRowing’s High Performance and Olympic development pathway, SDC brings together elite athletes from across the country to train, compete, and prepare for future opportunities with the U.S. National Team.

The camp culminates in the International Rowing Challenge, a premier U19 international regatta (formerly known as CanAmMex), where top athletes from Canada, Mexico, Australia, and New Zealand travel to the United States to train alongside SDC athletes before racing for the opportunity to bring home the championship title for their country.

Coach Lorna’s selection reflects her outstanding leadership, coaching expertise, and commitment to developing student athletes at the highest levels of the sport.

Montclair Rowing is so proud to see one of our very own helping shape the next generation of America’s elite rowing talent!

After a record-breaking season that included five championship titles, these exceptional student-athletes are ready to represent Montclair on the international stage.

For 24 years, Montclair Rowing has built a championship tradition while developing leaders, scholars, and outstanding young people. These athletes have worked tirelessly for this opportunity and are ready to make Montclair proud.

However, the cost of sending our crew and coaches to Henley will be approximately $50,000 and as a public school program, we can’t send the full boat without your support.
