EOY GIAA MIDDLE SCHOOL STATE COMPETITION 2025
Today was good day overall! Cold, windy and misty rain made for a stiff competition, but our fellas shot well and made us all very proud!
Happy to have our favorite s***t coach, Doug Trautman, join us to help trap and score in s***t and Trap along with our Middle School Coach, Ashley Smith. Both of these men have dedicated their time and love of this sport to our team and we are all very grateful for them both.
The team also enjoyed the company of our Head Master, Clint Welch, from Piedmont Academy, who made the trip to Savannah to spend the day with our team. Thank you Clint Welch for joining us!
Our team results for the day-
Piedmont Academy Shotgun Team- Middle School placed 4TH overall out of 28 Schools!
Out of 205 athletes, 2 of our team members, Elliott & Everett Smith placed in the top 10!
Everett Smith placed 3rd in Trap

Our team arrived at 7:30am this morning! Safety meeting @8’a then we jumped right into to Trap, followed by s***t! The wind worked against us and made for a cold start. But the boys held strong. Sporting is next at 12:30pm🙏🏻
This morning our team was joined by our headmaster, Clint Welch. Thank you for driving down to spend the day with our team. We appreciate your support.
Many, many thanks to Doug Trautman for always being loyal to the Piedmont Academy Shotgun Team. Thank you for always showing up for the kids practice and competition. Your time is truly making a difference.

Rain or shine the team shows up! Today our team and their coaches arrived in Savannah at Forest City Gun Club to practice for our State competition tomorrow. Our team will compete in 50 trap, 50 s***t and 100 sporting clays. Wishing them all the best!
Today we had one of our own, Jake Pope, a 2025 graduate from Piedmont Academy, who is now a member of Georgia Southern shotgun team, join us for practice. We are very proud of Jake and his success and appreciate him showing up to support our middle school team. 💙🐾
