Well, Week 2 is officially in the books.
Week 2 decided to let the goals do the talking. And there were plenty of them.
We had double-digit goal games, hat tricks, four-goal performances, shutouts, close games, comebacks, and enough goals to make several goalkeepers question their career choices.
So, as always... Thank you to everyone who came out, played hard, competed, and kept things moving.
Now, let's get into the football.

WEEK 2 RESULTS

Prime Fútbol 5–2 Real Caguama
Prime Fútbol continue to make a very convincing argument that they have discovered where the goal is.
Christian Castillo had a monster night with three goals, while Landon Chapman added two.
Real Caguama answered with goals from Irvin Gomez and Jose Cisneros Vega, but Prime Fútbol had enough firepower to take the three points.

Christian Castillo has now put himself firmly into the early Golden Boot conversation.

Steven and Friends 7–1 Frijoleros FC
Steven and Friends apparently decided that Week 1's three goals weren't enough.
They went for seven this time.
Julian Connor led the way with a hat trick, while Jeremiah Bush, Derek Chacon, Jeffrey Lorenzana and Juan Martinez each added one.

Frijoleros FC managed a consolation goal, but Steven and Friends were comfortably in control.
Seven goals.
One defeat for Frijoleros.
And somewhere, a goalkeeper is probably asking if they can transfer to another team.

C-Town FC 5–3 Race City Hooligans
C-Town FC picked up another strong result, defeating Race City Hooligans 5–3.
Kyle Enyeart scored twice, while Brain Stepanek, Kevin Giddings and Dallin Watson all added one.
Race City Hooligans kept themselves in the match with goals from Alexander Piro, Jonathan Marino Zaragoza and Luis Torralba.
Eight goals.
Three points.
Nobody apparently interested in keeping the score low.

Toffee's FC 2–11 CCFC Phoenix
CCFC Phoenix have clearly decided that goal difference is going to be important later.
Hogan Schrader scored five.
Kendrick Reese scored four.
Matt Argueta scored one.
Jordan Cook scored one.
CCFC Phoenix put 11 past Toffee's FC in one of the biggest scorelines of the season so far.
Toffee's FC managed two, but unfortunately they were probably still recovering from counting to eleven.
Mate... Save some for next week.

La Familia 2–2 Tossers Reunited
A completely different type of game.
After all the goal explosions, La Familia and Tossers Reunited decided to give the goalkeepers something to do.
A draw. Rocky Bravo and Ryan Murphy scored for La Familia, while Kendall Bertaux scored both goals for Tossers Reunited. A point apiece. And probably considerably less running around retrieving the ball from the back of the net.

Club Zaragoza 3–6 Da Bury
Da Bury picked up their first big attacking performance of the season with a 6–3 victory. And they did it with an unusual approach: Give the ball to Kenny Bonilla and Landon Goodman. Both players scored hat tricks.
Club Zaragoza got three from Diego Garcia and Luis Marin, but Da Bury's two-man scoring machine proved too much.

Unatletico Madrid 7–0 Wanderers
Unatletico Madrid followed up their Week 1 win with another convincing performance.
This time, they kept a clean sheet.
Brad Anderson scored three, James Olpin added two, and Bailey Schmutz and David Morley each scored one.
Wanderers couldn't find a way through. Unatletico Madrid are officially making themselves rather difficult to ignore.

Real Old 7–5 Chaos FC
This one was chaos. Appropriately. Twelve goals.
Real Old came out on top 7–5, with Sean Hayes scoring an incredible five goals. Dana Cuomo added two.
Chaos FC weren't exactly quiet themselves, with Philip Beasley scoring twice, Moises Hernandez scoring twice and Henery Thompson adding another. Five goals for Sean Hayes. That's not a hat trick.
That's a "please give someone else a turn" performance.

Footballers 3–1 Got Any Icy Hot
Footballers picked up a solid 3–1 victory. E Oliva scored twice and Richard Gavidia added another.
Brian Mortensen scored for Got Any Icy Hot. Once again, we hope everyone remembered to stretch.
Especially the team called Got Any Icy Hot.

Sunderville FC 7–0 Tiburones Rojos
Sunderville FC are clearly enjoying themselves.
Bryce Brakman and Jonathan Stanley both scored twice, while Nicolas Velasquez and Paul also found the net.
Tiburones Rojos couldn't find an answer.
After two weeks, Sunderville have clearly decided that conceding goals is not part of their plans.

Mixtiado FC 7–3 Telameto FC
Mixtiado FC continue to produce goals.
Telameto FC actually made them work for it, with Martin Ramirez scoring twice and Alex Hesiquio adding another.
But Mixtiado had six different scorers contributing to the victory.
Stephen Behnke.
Jeffrey Cochran.
William Humphrey.
Jake Flynn.
Issac Riffle.
Sebastian Rivera. And another two from Issac. That's some serious distribution.

Burnout FC 8–0 Los Mancos FC
Burnout FC have apparently taken their name personally.
They are burning through everyone.
Alex Stillman scored four.
Greg Lowe scored two.
Carter Birdsall and Evan Bischoff added one each.
Los Mancos FC couldn't find a way onto the scoreboard.
Eight goals.
Zero conceded.

Titans FC 9–2 Trash Pandas FC
Titans FC are another team making plenty of noise.
Nine goals.
Jackson Baker scored three, while Steven Amoroso, Jordan Charles, Rene Cottrell, Justin Deffenbaugh and Cole Krehnbrink all contributed.
Trash Pandas FC scored twice through Khalid Lamont and Jason Reed, but Titans were simply too strong.

FCD40 have apparently decided that normal scorelines are beneath them.

Tuzos FC 6–4 DC Aguila
A ten-goal thriller. Tuzos FC came out on top 6–4, with Jose Perez scoring three and Axel Ramirez adding two.
Bryan Contreras scored the other.
DC Aguila had goals from Milton Alfaro, David Cordova and Geovani Vega.
Four goals weren't enough. Six were. That's how football works.

Highbury FC 5–4 Velocity FC
Another absolute thriller. Highbury FC edged Velocity FC by a single goal in a nine-goal match.
Joseph Bernhardt scored twice, while Jose Gonzalez, Jorge Mendez and Maurizio Paniconi each added one.
Velocity answered through Christian Castillo, Jerson Hernandez and Anthony Wagner. Highbury held on.

Brisket Rovers 7–2 Smashed FC
Brisket Rovers put together a very balanced attack. Seven different scorers.

Smashed FC responded through Jose Calix and David Jolicoeur, but Brisket Rovers were comfortably ahead.

FC Diabolical picked up another victory, defeating Weaklink FC 4–1.
Scott Flowers continued his excellent start to the season with two goals.
Curtis Lagman and Jeffrey Moncada added one each.
Weaklink FC found the net through Luis Rivera Silvan.

Welcome back, everyone, to another season of adult soccer, in Mooresville, NC. What a night.

Week 1 of the Fall 7v7 season is officially in the books, and what a start it was.
The weather certainly tried to make things interesting in the late games, but the storm looked at everyone having fun and changed direction. There were moments when it looked like Mother Nature was considering joining the league, but thankfully the teams kept things moving.
And speaking of teams... A Huge Thank You for the Sportsmanship
A special shout-out to Toffee's FC, Weaklink FC, and Unatletico Madrid, who were absolutely brilliant with their sportsmanship. That kind of attitude is exactly what we want to see on the field. It is noticed, it is appreciated, and it makes everyone's night better.
A massive thank you to everyone who contributed to a positive atmosphere.

The Referees Survived! The refs showed up. They ran around. They made calls. They tried their best.
And remarkably, they weren't chased out of the park with pitchforks.
Thank you to our referees for putting in the work and helping us get the season started.

Players Worked Their Socks Off
Week 1 also provided the usual collection of adult soccer injuries that aren't quite injuries until tomorrow morning.
Tight hamstrings? Probably. Dodgy ankles? Almost certainly. Questionable knees? We don't want to know.
And then there were the diving headers. Because apparently normal headers weren't dangerous enough.

The best part? Very few yellow cards! Let's keep that trend going. We're trying to play soccer, not recreate the Battle of Britain.

WEEK 1 RECAP -- Now Onto the Football!

Highbury FC 5-3 Club Zaragoza
Highbury FC opened the season with an eight-goal thriller.
Joseph Bernhardt, Matthew Johnson, Anthony Mendez, Maurizio Paniconi and Christian Rivas each found the net, giving Highbury five different scorers.
Club Zaragoza kept things competitive with three goals of their own, but Highbury held on for the opening-night victory.

DC Aguila 6-4 Los Mancos FC
Ten goals.
That's right.
Ten.
DC Aguila edged Los Mancos FC in a match where the goalkeepers presumably spent most of the evening wondering why they bothered bringing gloves.
A fantastic attacking battle to kick off the season.

CCFC Phoenix 6-2 Race City Hooligans
CCFC Phoenix wasted no time getting their season moving in the right direction.
Hogan Schrader produced a hat trick, while Kendrick Reese added two more as Phoenix put six on the board.
Race City Hooligans answered with goals from Arath Navarrete and Alexander Piro, but Phoenix had too much firepower.

Tossers Reunited 4-3 C-Town FC
Now this was a proper 7v7 match.
Seven goals, plenty of action and only one goal separating the sides at the final whistle.
Kendall Bertaux led the way for Tossers Reunited with two goals, while John Bejarano and Ernesto Waines added one each.
C-Town weren't going quietly, with Brain Stepanek scoring all three of their goals.
Unfortunately for C-Town, three wasn't quite enough.

Tuzos FC 3-2 Da Bury
A tight one here.
Da Bury kept things close, but Tuzos FC managed to find the winning margin.
Jose Perez was the standout, earning Player of the Match honors and, according to the score sheet, apparently deciding that scoring was his responsibility.

Mixtiado FC 4-4 Velocity FC
A draw. Eight goals. Nobody willing to defend. Everyone having a lovely time.
Mixtiado had goals from Stephen Behnke, Jeffrey Cochran and William Humphrey, while Velocity FC had four different scorers. A proper back-and-forth 7v7 battle that ended with both teams taking a point.

Sunderville FC 5-1 Got Any Icy Hot
Sunderville FC got their season off to a flying start with a convincing five-goal performance.
Nicolas Velasquez scored twice, while Kyle Guenther added another.
Got Any Icy Hot managed one through Brian Mortensen, who at least ensured the scoreboard wasn't entirely one-sided.

And yes...
After this game, the name Got Any Icy Hot suddenly became less of a team name and more of a medical request.

FCD40 7-3 Real Old
Another high-scoring affair.
FCD40 came out firing with seven goals, led by an absolutely ridiculous five-goal performance from Scott Flowers.
Five.
That's the sort of night where you start wondering if someone accidentally put the difficulty setting on "Easy."
Real Old battled back with three goals from Sean Hayes, Jason Robinson and Justin Smith, but FCD40 had too much going forward.

Footballers 6-2 Chaos FC
Chaos FC brought the chaos.
Footballers brought the goals.
Brian Cone was responsible for five of the six Footballers goals, producing another huge individual performance.
E Oliva added the sixth, while Kaitlin Breed and Bob Johnson scored for Chaos FC.
Despite the name, Chaos FC couldn't quite create enough chaos to turn the game around.

Tiburones Rojos 4-2 Mazeppa Legends
Tiburones Rojos came away with a solid opening-night victory.
Mazeppa Legends managed two goals through PJ Brassard and Bret Haynie, but Tiburones had enough attacking power to secure the three points.

Burnout FC 7-2 Telameto FC
Burnout FC certainly didn't ease themselves into the season.
They went straight to work.
Alex Stillman scored three, Nathan Adams added two and Greg Lowe and Carter Birdsall chipped in with one each.
Telameto FC found the net twice through Martin Ramirez and Alex Hesiquio, but Burnout were simply too hot to handle.
Seven goals.
Apparently Burnout FC isn't just a team name.
It's a warning.
Prime Fútbol 10-3 Smashed FC
Ten.
Goals.
Prime Fútbol absolutely exploded onto the Fall 7v7 scene.
Landon Chapman and Greyson Deaton both scored three, while Danilo Bordogna, Antwan Gomez, Matthew Robinson and Carter Wylie all added one.
Smashed FC did manage three goals through Antonni Palacios, but Prime Fútbol had already left the building by then.

Titans FC 6-1 Wanderers
Titans FC made a strong opening statement.
Steven Amoroso and Rene Cottrell both scored twice, while Jordan Charles and Justin Deffenbaugh added one apiece.
Wanderers found one through Lucas Martin, but Titans controlled the match and walked away with a comfortable victory.

La Familia 5-2 Toffee's FC
La Familia picked up three points, but this game deserves some extra recognition.
Toffee's FC were one of the teams who stood out for their sportsmanship, and that's worth celebrating just as much as the scoreline.
La Familia were led by a hat trick from Rocky Bravo, with Travis Cartner and Ryan Murphy also scoring.
Toffee's answered through Franyane Pina and Mancho Romaric.

Three points for La Familia.

Real Caguama 6-1 Frijoleros FC
Real Caguama came out flying.

Rafael Sanchez grabbed the consolation for Frijoleros FC.

Steven and Friends 3-2 Brisket Rovers
A close one to finish the night.
Steven and Friends edged Brisket Rovers 3-2, with Jeremiah Bush, Julian Connor and Joshua Ruiz all scoring.
Brisket Rovers kept things interesting through Cameron Murray and Augustus Savage, but Steven and Friends held on.

FC Diabolical 7-2 Trash Pandas FC
FC Diabolical finished the night with another impressive attacking performance.
Trash Pandas FC managed two goals, but Diabolical put seven on the board to take a convincing opening victory.
After one week, the rest of the league has officially been warned.
Unatletico Madrid 5-3 Weaklink FC
A great way to close out Week 1.

Weaklink FC battled hard and put three goals past Unatletico Madrid, but the visitors eventually pulled away for a 5-3 victory.
Both teams also deserve recognition for the sportsmanship shown during the evening.

It's difficult to ignore a 10-goal performance.
Prime Fútbol scored more goals in one match than some teams manage in an entire season.

SUMMER 11v11 Division 2 FINAL

MUMMIES FC 3 0 TRASH PANDAS

It was a fun game to watch. The game having chances at both ends. With Mummies FC coming out on top. With Trash Pandas pushing for the leveller, MFC, were able to take advantage and kill the game off late on. Both teams earn each others respect. Well played everyone.

Afternoon MASA,

Two weeks remaining in the Summer 11v11 season. Division 1 Quarter finals and Division 2 Semi-finals have been played. The heat was turned on and the humidity had everyone sweating, even before a ball was kicked.

The semifinal/quarterfinals reminded everyone that playoff football is a different game entirely. One bad night and months of hard work disappear quicker than a goalkeeper claiming, "I had it covered."
With a place in the Final/semifinals on the line, there were surprises, statements and one or two championship favourites sent packing.

Mummies FC 2-1 5 Stars
The Division 2 regular season champions survived another stern test.
Mummies FC once again showed why championship teams find ways to win, edging out a determined 5 Stars side in a tightly contested battle.

Smashed FC 1-0 QCP FC
QCP FC unfortunley forfeited their game due to an injury. Thoughts and prays with Darlan, for a quick recovery. QCP FC cruised through the regular season as Division 1B Champions,
Smashed FC with some good results the last few weeks.

Trash Pandas 2-1 Los Plebes Del Norte FC
Two of the hottest teams in the playoffs met in what many expected to be a thriller.
It didn't disappoint.
The Trash Pandas edged a spirited Los Plebes side to book their place in the Final, ending one of the best late-season runs in the league.
Los Plebes may be out, but they certainly left their mark.

Argentinos Jrs 3-1 C-Town FC
Another favourite C-Town had quietly put together one of the strongest regular seasons in the league, but Argentinos saved one of their best performances for the biggest stage.
Clinical finishing and disciplined defending carried them into the final four.

Mixtiado FC 4-1 Blue Ballers FC
The Division 1A Champions looked every bit the part.
Mixtiado were outplayed in the first half from Blue Ballers who were playing down a man and leading 1 nil with a great cross and header.
Steam runout in the second half and MFC were able to capitalize when BB were pushing forward.

CCFC Phoenix 4-1 FC Diabolical
CCFC Phoenix produced one of their finest performances of the season.
Against a dangerous FC Diabolical side, Phoenix were relentless, scoring four times to secure a deserved place in the semifinals.
Another contender has fallen.

After a difficult regular season, Blue Ballers picked the perfect time to produce one of their best performances.
A clean sheet, four goals, and a place in the next round.
Burnout's season comes to an end, but they'll be remembered for fighting until the final whistle every week.

Smashed FC 3-2 Highbury FC
Smashed FC's late-season form has carried straight into the playoffs.
Highbury battled all the way, but Smashed found just enough quality to edge another entertaining contest.
When knockout football arrives, sometimes one moment makes all the difference.

FC Diabolical 5-2 FC Veracruz
FC Diabolical looked every bit like the title contender many expected at the beginning of the season.
Five goals, plenty of attacking football and another confident playoff victory.
FC Veracruz fought hard but couldn't contain the Diabolical attack, bringing their season to an end.

Los Plebes Del Norte FC 8-0 Wanderers
If anyone was wondering whether Los Plebes were serious playoff contenders...
They have their answer.

If games are level at full time, there will be 5 minutes of extra time. Played through.
If the game is level after extra time, it will go to penalties. 5 penalties for each team. Players to be chosen from the players that are on the field at the final whistle.
If level after penalties, it will go to sudden death penalties.
