thank you for one of the best seasons to date. Since we started the league in 2011, to where we are now, is incredible to think. That is down to you as players. However, we do need a HUGE thank you to the team Captains, for organizing you, making sure you turn up and making the tough selection decisions.

Thank you, to Mike, Tommy, Cristian, and our new recruit Adam. They help make it possible.

Thank you to Mooresville Rec Dept, for their amazing complex and allowing us to play and be part of the soccer community.

Hello MASA,

Rain, penalties, extra time… and absolute playoff chaos.

Well, the semifinals have officially survived the weather, the nerves, and several players discovering that wet turf moves significantly faster than their knees do.

Rain absolutely played its part this week — turning slick passing moves into accidental comedy sketches and making every 50/50 challenge look like a scene from a nature documentary. The semifinals are complete.
And what a week it was.

Now… it all comes down to THE FINALS — MAY 13TH.
Come out and watch.
Because if these playoffs have taught us anything, it’s that absolutely nobody is safe once the whistle blows.

SEMIFINAL RESULTS
FC Veracruz 5 – 2 BetterChinoHills
Veracruz were sharp, ruthless, and smelled blood early. BetterChinoHills fought hard, but Veracruz simply had another gear.

Footballers 2 – 1 Got Any Icy Hot
Tight, tense, and properly scrappy. Footballers edged it with the sort of determination usually reserved for people chasing the last chicken wing at halftime.

QCP FC 2 – 2 Mixtiado FC
Mixtiado FC win 4–2 on penalties
A battle that refused to separate itself until penalties delivered the cruelest ending in football.

Tuzos FC 7 – 3 Telameto FC
No subtlety here — just goals flying in from everywhere. Tuzos attacked like a side late for dinner.

Real Caguama 4 – 1 Titans FC
Efficient, composed, and very little panic involved. A proper semifinal performance.

FCD 40 6 – 2 Real Old
The Over-40s proving once again that experience matters… especially when combined with selective running and very loud communication.

La Familia 5 – 1 Tossers Reunited
A statement win. Clinical from start to finish, with La Familia looking every bit like a side chasing more silverware.

C-Town FC 4 – 1 CCFC
Disciplined, dangerous, and absolutely no interest in making things easy for the opposition.

Goal Diggers 4 – 2 FC Diabolical
A proper heavyweight clash. Goal Diggers handled the pressure better and punched their ticket to the final.

H-Town FC 4 – 2 Brisket Rovers
Plenty of attacking football and just enough defending to keep things technically legal.

This is it.
One more game.
One more chance at glory.
The finals are set, the stakes are massive, and somewhere already there’s a player claiming:

FINAL WORDS FROM HQ
To everyone still standing — congratulations.
The playoffs have delivered everything:
Chaos, quality, controversy, and enough penalties to shorten several lifespans.
Now we finish it properly.
See you under the lights for Finals Night.

Thank you

Morning MASA!

Week 11 arrived with proper knockout tension — no second chances, no gentle exits, just a one-way ticket either to the semifinals… or to the sideline with a cold drink and opinions about what should have happened.
And oh, it delivered.
We had last-minute winners, extra-time drama, and of course, the dreaded penalty shootout — football’s finest way of turning grown adults into nervous wrecks.
There were heroes everywhere:
Keepers suddenly channeling prime World Cup form.
Strikers discovering clinical finishing at exactly the right time.
And defenders throwing themselves at the ball like it owed them money.
Some matches were smash-and-grab jobs, others hard-fought battles, and a few good jobs.

WEEK 11 RESULTS

Weaklink FC 3 – 4 FC Veracruz
A proper scrap — Veracruz just edging it with enough composure to avoid collective panic.

CCFC 4 – 2 Toffees FC
Clinical when it mattered. Toffees getting stuck.

BetterChinoHills 4 – 1 Wanderers
Confident, controlled, and no real drama — just how managers pretend they drew it up.

Mazzeppa Legends 3 – 5 Real Old
Experience meets efficiency. Real Old showing they’ve still got plenty left in the tank (and possibly better stretching routines).

Da Bury 2 – 4 Tuzos FC
Tuzos came to business — and finished it.

Highbury FC 1 – 5 Telameto FC
A statement win. Ruthless, sharp, and not much mercy shown.

Velocity FC 3 – 4 QCP FC
End-to-end chaos — the sort of match where defending is more of a suggestion.

Chaos FC 1 – 6 Got Any Icy Hot
Icy Hot living up to the name — soothing performance for them, painful for Chaos.

FC Diabolical 8 – 2 Gordos FC
Goals, goals, and… more goals. Diabolical weren’t messing about.

Blue Ballers (5) – (5) Brisket Rovers
Brisket Rovers win 5–4 on penalties
Level after everything — settled the only way knockout football truly knows how:
with nerves, drama, and at least one player who absolutely did not want to take a penalty.

Mixtiado FC 4 – 3 Galaxy FC
A tight one — edged by grit, determination, and possibly louder shouting. In extra time.

SEMIFINAL PLAYOFF RULES – READ ‘EM (AND REMEMBER ‘EM)
Everyone else: Win or go home. No excuses. No appeals to VAR.
Two halves of 25 minutes
Level after 50 minutes? → 5 minutes extra time (single period — no time for tea)
Still level? → Penalty Shootout begins
5 per side
Then sudden death (heart rate optional)
Penalty takers must remain on the field
Teams with uneven numbers even it out (yes, your keeper counts — sorry mate)
Red cards carry into next season — so perhaps avoid theatrical revenge tackles.

Thank you.

Hello MASA!
Well, would you believe it? Ten weeks gone! With no rain, lots of goals, a few cheeky nutmegs, and the occasional “friendly discussion” with the referee (conducted, naturally, at a perfectly reasonable volume).

The Regular league season has climaxed, hamstrings are tight, and ankles are sore, now — just when everyone thought they might get a quiet evening — it’s time for the PLAYOFFS.

A moment to CONGRATULATE our league winners, some oh so close. To all our champions, golden boot winners, and Players of the Season. The drinks are on you. Don't forget to come collect something shiny waiting for you at the End of Season Dinner on May 20th. 🏆

Footballers 5 – 0 Got Any Icy Hot

The Semifinal Draw will be held live under the concession stand after next week’s games.
Stop by.
Grab a snack.
Pretend you’re calm while secretly hoping to avoid that one team.

From all of us at MASA — a massive thank you.
You’ve shown passion, commitment, and good humour all season long.
Well… mostly good humour. 😄
Now go heal up, fuel up, and prepare yourselves for playoff football — where legends are made, and hamstrings are tested beyond reasonable limits.
Eat well.
Hydrate responsibly.
Enjoy a well-earned beverage or two (strictly for recovery purposes, obviously). 🍺
See you under the lights next week.
Game on.

THANK YOU, From MASA
And remember:
Football may be a young man’s game — but stubbornness is timeless.

WEEK 9 ROUND-UP

FCD 40 3–2 FOOTBALLERS
Scorers Footballers: Richard Gavidia (1), Kenny Rubi (1)
Scorers FCD 40: Travis Bobb (2), BJ Shore (1)
POM: Richard Gavidia / Eddy Pacey
A proper heavyweight clash to start the night. Gavidia opened the scoring with a sharp finish from close range, before Bobb responded with a clinical strike after finding space inside the box.
Bobb grabbed his second later in the game with a composed finish under pressure, while Shore added what proved to be the decisive goal — rifling one into the corner. Rubi pulled one back late for Footballers, but FCD 40 held on.

C-TOWN FC 5–4 TOFFEES FC
Scorers C-Town: Alexander Piro (2), Evan Miller (2), Keenan Watson (1)
Scorers Toffees: Marlon Mena (1), Doug Sutherland (1), Matthew Clary (1), Bryan Heisler (1)
POM: Paul Warren / Ryan Garver
One of the games of the week — nine goals, end-to-end chaos, and barely a tackle in sight. Piro and Miller both grabbed braces, scoring from quick passing moves and well-timed runs into space.
Toffees refused to go quietly, with four different scorers keeping things tight until the final whistle.

TOSSERS REUNITED 5–4 CCFC
Scorers Tossers: Elliott Seal (4), Timothy Frost (1)
Scorers CCFC: Andrew Quintero (2), Kendrick Reese (2)
POM: Elliott Seal / Kendrick Reese
Elliott Seal delivered another outrageous performance — four goals and total control of the attacking third. His movement off the ball caused chaos, and each finish looked more confident than the last.
Quintero and Reese fought back hard for CCFC, each scoring twice, but Seal had the final say.
Fake quote — Elliott Seal:
“Four again? I might need a bigger trophy shelf.”

TITANS FC 4–2 BetterChinoHills
Scorers Titans: Justin Deffenbaugh (1), Nick Smith (2), Rene Cottrell (1)
Scorers B*H: Nathan Adams (2)
POM: Justin Deffenbaugh / Nathan Adams
Smith continued his strong season with another brace, both goals coming from clever movement inside the box. Adams delivered two goals of his own for BetterChinoHills but couldn’t stop Titans from pulling away.

BRISKET ROVERS 3–3 GOAL DIGGERS
Scorers Brisket: Jarred Cline (1), Andrew Martin (2)
Scorers Diggers: Jeremiah Bush (1), Julian Connor (1), Josue Aguirre (1)
POM: Sophie McKnight / Julian Connor
A tightly contested draw where neither side could break clear. Martin’s brace kept Brisket alive, while Diggers relied on balanced scoring across the team.

CHAOS FC 2–0 GOT ANY ICY HOT
POM: Daniel Roath / Erik Heinig
Chaos pulled off a disciplined performance, keeping things tight defensively and taking their chances when it mattered most.

FC VERACRUZ 3–0 WANDERERS
POM: Milton Alfaro
Veracruz delivered a confident win, keeping Wanderers quiet while capitalising on their attacking chances.

H-TOWN FC 10–0 GORDOS FC
POM: Not listed
Another brutal scoreline — H-Town ran riot with relentless pressure and finishing that left Gordos chasing shadows.
Gordos had to forfeit.

QCP FC 3–2 MIXTIADO FC
Scorer Mixtiado: Carter Schaaf (2)
Schaaf delivered another strong showing with two goals, but QCP edged the contest with a late push.

REAL OLD 6–1 MAZEPPA LEGENDS
Scorers Real Old: Jason Robinson (2), Lindsay Durham (1), Douglas Durham (2), Mark McConnell (1)
Scorer Mazeppa: PJ Brassard (1)
POM: Lindsay Durham / PJ Brassard
Real Old dominated from the opening whistle. The Durham duo combined brilliantly, with Douglas bagging two and Lindsay adding another to control the match.

REAL CAGUAMA 5–2 WEAKLINK FC
Scorers Weaklink: Isai Riverea (2)
Scorers Caguama: Gustavo Medina (1), Roslainer Socarras (3), Amer Muskic (1)
POM: Isai Riverea / Arturo Ramirez
Socarras stole the show with a hat-trick, finishing with clinical precision throughout the match.

TUZOS FC 6–5 GALAXY FC
Scorers Tuzos: Alexander Ramirez (1), Andry Rosales (4), Asuncion Gonzalez (1)
POM: Adrian Oropeza
Absolute madness — Rosales bagged four goals in one of the wildest games of the season.
Fake quote — Andry Rosales:
“If we needed seven, I probably had one more in me.”

DA BURY 8–1 TIGRES FC
POM: Leo Bautista / Landon Goodman
Da Bury continued their scoring spree with another dominant performance.

FC DIABOLICAL 10–1 BLUE BALLERS
Scorers: Scott Flowers (4), Griffin Nixdorf (2), Joshua Alvarenga (1), Adam DeEsch (1), Curtis Lagman (1), Jack Watters (1)
Flowers delivered four goals in a ruthless performance that overwhelmed Blue Ballers.

TELAMETO FC 5–1 FC PARCEROS
Scorers: Luis Jaramilo (1), Alex Gomez (1), Fernando Ortiz (1), Angel Dominguez (1), Jesus Silva (1)
POM: Dominic Delgado / John Bejarano
Five different scorers highlighted Telameto’s attacking depth.

HIGHBURY FC 1–1 VELOCITY FC
Scorers: Anthony Medez (1), Irvin Almaraz (1)
POM: Jorge Reyes / Damian Hurtado
A rare defensive battle — tight, disciplined, and evenly matched.

TEAM OF THE WEEK — 3-2-1
Goalkeeper: Paul Warren
Clean sheet leadership and composure.
Defence: Milton Alfaro, Dominic Delgado, and Justin Deffenbaugh.
Midfield: Nick Smith, Andrew Martin, and Erik Heining
Forward: Elliott Seal
