π WORKING STUDENT OPPORTUNITY π
Are you looking to expand your horsemanship beyond lessons and gain hands-on experience with competition horses?
We are seeking reliable, motivated individuals (ages 13+) to join our Working Student program. This is an excellent opportunity to learn the daily care, management, and attention to detail required to keep high-level sport horses happy, healthy, and performing at their best.
π΄ **Compensation:** One riding lesson earned for every 3.5-hour shift worked (equivalent to over $18/hour in lesson value)
**Responsibilities may include:**
β’ Grooming, bathing, tacking, and lunging horses
β’ Daily care of Sarah's competition horses
β’ Assisting with conditioning and horse management routines
β’ Warm-up rides for qualified riders, depending on experience and ability
**What you'll learn:**
β’ Professional horse care and stable management standards
β’ Show preparation and horse presentation
β’ Braiding
β’ PEMF therapy
β’ Red light therapy
β’ Cryotherapy
β’ The behind-the-scenes work that goes into a successful competition program
π **Growth Opportunities**
For working students who consistently demonstrate reliability, initiative, and strong horsemanship, additional opportunities may become available, including:
β’ Attending local horse shows as part of the team
β’ Traveling to WEC for a competition season
β’ Increased riding opportunities
β’ Learning advanced horse management and show preparation
β’ Developing into an assistant rider or beginner instructor role
**Requirements:**
βοΈ Age 13+ adults are welcome!
βοΈ Reliable transportation
βοΈ Ability to safely lead, groom, and tack horses independently
βοΈ Available for at least one shift per week
βοΈ Weekday availability (MondayβFriday)
βοΈ Shift start times between 3:30 PM and 4:45 PM (flexible)
This position is ideal for someone who is eager to learn, enjoys hard work, and wants to develop the skills, knowledge, and work ethic that set exceptional horsemen and horsewomen apart.
