Recently we said goodbye to one of the most unforgettable horses to ever call our barn home.

Captain, our beloved off-track Thoroughbred, passed away at 27 years old after spending the last 12 years with us. He came to us with the heart and spirit of a true Thoroughbred—athletic, opinionated, and always keeping everyone on their toes. From his prime to his passing, he loved to jump and never failed to remind us just how much personality could fit into one horse.

Throughout the years, Captain embraced a new role as a lesson horse at Rocking L Ranch and a fan favorite of the IEA Region. While he never completely lost his spark, he taught countless riders valuable lessons— building confidence and practicing patience, all while creating unforgettable memories along the way.
He had a way of making every ride an adventure, and those who knew him loved him for exactly who he was.

Run free, Captain. Thank you for 12 incredible years, for every lesson you taught, and for the joy you brought to everyone who had the privilege of knowing you. The barn will be much quieter without your presence. We won’t forget you. ❤️

Captain leaves behind so many memories, laughs, and stories that will be shared for years to come. Please share in the comments memories, photos, funny stories, or anything we can remember Captain by, as he was very loved and will be truly missed.
