🏆 PETTIGREW ROCKS PEBBLE CREEK ⛳

The Weekenders made their first trip to Pebble Creek Golf Club in Colts Neck for the final match play event of the regular season, and longtime Weekender Mike Pettigrew came away with the win.

Pettigrew posted a net 70 (-1) to take the title by three over Jae Kim, who entered the closing stretch in position to win before giving back four strokes over the final three holes.

The victory also punches Mike’s ticket to the year-end Players Championship at Mercer Oaks East. 🏆

There was plenty happening beyond the leaderboard. The final Doubles Match Play playoff spot came down to Jae Kim & Jon Schiavo vs. Brady & Charlie, with Jae and Jon leaving absolutely no room for suspense in a 7&5 victory to secure their place in the postseason.

Now it’s playoff time.

🏆 SCRAMBLED TO VICTORY

Crystal Springs Resort lived up to its reputation as one of New Jersey’s toughest tests, and this one came down to the very end.

Chris Kumia & Jae Kim captured the 2026 Weekenders Two-Man Scramble, defeating Frank Garcia & Rich George on the back-nine net tiebreaker.

Garcia & George were in position to take it, but three straight bogeys on 16, 17 and 18 opened the door. Kumia & Kim did exactly what they needed to do, playing the back nine in gross even par to secure the victory.

And the win came with a little extra hardware for Chris. 🎟️

Jae had already qualified for the year-end Players Championship, so Chris Kumia officially punches his ticket to the major with the victory.

Congrats to our champs and to everyone who took on Crystal Springs. ⛳

🏆 Joe Kepic is rolling.

Two weeks. Two wins.

Joe Kepic continued his hot streak at Harkers Hollow Golf Club, firing a net 73 (82 gross) to capture his second consecutive Weekenders victory. It wasn’t easy, though. Hank Zygmunt, Jeff Matvienko, and Tyler Seidel all finished just one stroke back at net 74, making it one of the closest finishes of the season.

Congratulations also to our closest-to-the-pin winners:
⛳ Hole 5: Nunzio DePaola
⛳ Hole 9: Mike Pettigrew
⛳ Hole 11: Jae Kim
⛳ Hole 16: Taka Kitsuta

A great day of golf, plenty of friendly competition, and another memorable Sunday with the Weekenders.

Next up: the annual 2-man scramble Crystal Springs Golf Club on August 16.

🏆 18 and Counting.

Jeff Matvienko added another chapter to an already remarkable Weekenders career, capturing his 18th league victory with a one-shot win at Flanders Valley Golf Course last Sunday.

On a picture-perfect summer day, the tree-lined fairways and tricky pin locations kept the field honest, but Jeff’s steady play was enough to edge out the young-gun rookie Stephen George and further extend his record as the winningest player in Weekenders history. See the full story on www.weekendersgolfclub.com

With his second victory of the season, another spot in the year-end Players Championship is officially locked up, making the chase for the remaining qualifying spots even tighter.

Next up: our biggest event of the year. The two-day Club Championship heads to Shawnee Inn & Golf Resort, where one player will earn the title of Club Champion.

Congratulations, Jeff! 👏⛳

Leave it to Brady.

Beaver Brook gave the Weekenders another picture-perfect Sunday, but the course had plenty of bite. The wrong side of the fairway brought trouble, and the greens made everyone earn it.

Brady Lau handled it best, firing the day’s low gross 78 and winning the event with a net 72, three shots clear of the field.

🏆 Winner: Brady Lau
⛳ Net 72 / Gross 78
🥈 Runner-up: Jeff Matvienko
🎯 CTP Winners: Charlie Padilla, Frank Garcia, Nunzio DePaola & Jae Kim

Great round, great weather, and another strong Weekenders Sunday in the books.

Back-to-back.

Frank Garcia continued his run at Flanders Valley Golf Course posting a net 1-under 71 to edge Mike Mazzella by one shot and capture his second straight victory this year.

With temperatures in the 80s and not a cloud in the sky, it was one of those days that reminds you why Sunday golf is hard to beat. The greens were as tricky as ever, and every putt seemed to have a little extra movement.

Garcia was already locked into the Players Championship as the defending champion, so his win shrinks the field by one more spot and tightens the race for everyone chasing a berth.

Next up: Beaver Brook. 🍻⛳

Sunset Valley Golf Course brought the usual: sneaky length (just under 6,000 yards), and greens that punish anything hit with the confidence of a mediocre putter.

Frank Garcia ran away with it today, posting net 71 (79-8). He closed with a 38 on the back and capped it with a birdie on 18 to win by 4 over Jon Schiavo (second straight runner-up) and Joe Kepic.

Best weather of the year so far too. Sunny, mid-70s, zero complaints. Shout out to Charlie for treating the group to Transfusions from the beverage company he represents!

Black Bear Golf Club at Crystal Springs Resort was a welcome change last Sunday. First event all year with genuinely great weather, and it felt like everyone showed up ready to play.

We were at Black Bear Golf Club in Franklin, NJ, tucked into the hills of Sussex County. Course conditions were excellent: fairways were spotless, bunkers were dialed, and the rough made you think without turning into a penalty. The greens were the real story. Fast, true, and just enough movement to keep you honest. A putt that looked safe could get away from you in a hurry, and suddenly par wasn’t automatic.

Henry Zygmunt turned back the clock and stayed on top of the board most of the day, taking the win with a net 75 (102–27). Jon Schiavo made it interesting late with two birdies in his last three holes, finishing one back at net 76 (89–13). Hank held on, punched another ticket to the year-end Player’s Championship, and lived to tell the tale.

Next week: Sunset Valley. Don’t let the yardage fool you. The real defense is those undulating greens, especially anything downhill.

High Bridge Hills Golf Club showed up in full links mode last Sunday: cold, windy, and ready to humble anyone who tried to get cute off the tee. Balls were moving on the greens, flags were leaning, and “good shot” didn’t always mean “good result.”

Charlie Padilla finally climbed back into the winner’s circle with a net 72 (82–10), edging Taka Kitsuta by one (90–17 = 73). The difference was the finish: Charlie came home in a gross 39 and buried a clutch birdie on the par-5 15th when everyone else was just trying to survive.

Ticket punched to the year-end Player’s Championship.
