⚽💙 What a beautiful day — and what an incredible team — to kick off our Unified Soccer season with! Thank you to Morristown Unified for hosting yesterday’s season opener, and best of luck this season.

✨ Sparta Highlights from our 9–3 win:
🔥 First-time soccer player Theo Peirce lit up the field, netting 4 goals for the Spartans!
🙌 Bobby Schweizer added 2 more, while Allie Yurchak and Zachary Frisina each found the back of the net.
🎉 Freshman Henry LaDuke scored his first-ever unified goal and played tough on defense, making his debut one to remember!

🛡 Our defensive wall — captains Riley LaDuke & Andy Redding, along with Eric McCall, Evie Cunene, and Rylan Papaganeres — held strong in the backfield. Huge shoutout to goalies Zoe Tsamadias, Riley LaDuke, and Bobby Schweizer for protecting the net and securing the Spartans’ victory!

Yesterday Sparta's Varsity Baseball team celebrated their Seniors and Autism Acceptance month. Sparta Unified's Big Man, Nik Cucciniello, had the honor of throwing out the first pitch as the boys hosted Parsippany Hills. We are very proud of Nik. He represented Sparta with the utmost professionalism and sportsmanship. His love for our Sparta community and his peers was apparent as he worked his way through the Sparta players wishing them luck. Thank you to Sparta Varsity Baseball for offering this opportunity to Nik.

Sarah, we are so proud to call you our teammate. Congratulations on being the recipient of the 2025 Sussex County School Counselor Association's Sparta Middle School Caring Award. You are very deserving.

Autism is a developmental disability that affects people in the areas of communication, social skills, and behavior. It is a lifelong disability and is found throughout the world in families of all racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

The Sparta Inclusion Committee polled our district students and families asking them to share words they felt best describe inclusion and acceptance. Those words were then used to design this year's Autism Acceptance apparel. Thank you to .unified for hosting yesterday's meet. Despite the chilly conditions Sparta had a great day. In the 100m Bobby Schweizer had Sparta's quickest time with a 15.88, in the 200m Patrick Fitzsimmons ran a 29.09 and Zach Frisina represented in the 400m with a time of 1:10.76. Other notable performances included: Fynn McKenzie throwing the shot put 31'5", the 4x100m team of David Kriku, Rylan Papaganeres, Jamie Brylawski and Fynn McKenzie ran together for the first time and recorded an impressive 1:09.89 and our 4x400 team of Andrew Kozakiewicz, Haley Erickson, Grady Gaines and Zach Frisina took first with a time of 5:22.81. All of our Spartans run hard and threw their best. We are very proud of our team. See everyone April 1 at Morris Knolls 4pm start.
