City to Host Parks Master Plan Open House

Earlier this spring, the City of Morristown hosted a Public Meeting to discuss the Parks & Recreation Master Plan. This meeting gathered input from citizens on what they want to see in Morristown parks and programs within the next 10 years.
Working with contracted design firm, Pape Dawson, the City has developed a comprehensive plan to better meet the needs and desires of our community. Based on the community feedback that was received at the public meeting, four key recommendation categories have emerged to help guide the future of parks and recreation in Morristown. Those categories are Facilities and Physical Assets, Programming, Recreational Assets and Tourism, and Operations. The City is once again asking the public’s input on reviewing the recommendations from the design firm. Your input is needed to help prioritize what projects, programs and facilities matter most to you and to make decisions on what happens next.
Whether you have suggestions and want to offer your input or you just want to come and hear about future plans for our parks system, you are invited to attend the Open House event on Monday, August 10th at 6pm at Talley Ward Recreation Center, located at 324 S. James Street.
