Cricket SUMMER FINALS vs Hunters
The HT Summer Final was a match-up between the Vikings and the Hunters. The Vikings had a great league leg and secured their place in the finals after defeating the Tridents in the Semi-finals. The Hunters won the toss and chose to bowl first due to the wet ground conditions. The Vikings opening batsmen started off strong but unfortunately lost their first wicket in the 6th over. However, Govindarajan Kutty and Rajadeepan Vasanthal played well together, with Raj scoring 20 runs before departing. Unfortunately, the Vikings started losing wickets in every over, which put them on a backfoot. Nevertheless, Govind, who was the top scorer of the tournament, played exceptionally well and scored 31 runs before getting out. The Vikings ended up all out for 98 in 20 overs. In the second innings, the Hunters started off strong with a 5-6 run rate. Murali Shanmugam(Tiger) took 3 wickets which gave the Vikings hope. However, the Hunters played sensibly and successfully crossed the finishing line. Murali was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3 wickets with a score of 4-0-9-3.
