As so many athletes prepare to compete next week, it's important for us to remember that first and foremost, they are children. 💜

The jump rope community is a family. When one hurts, we all hurt. We lost a lifetime member of The Kangaroo Kids last night and our hearts are heavy. With an infectious laugh and beautiful smile, Ebi Short had a passion for life, photography and especially for jump rope. We are deeply grieving for her grandparents, Bob and Ginny, and her sister, Beth. We know the entire jump rope community is grieving with us and for her family, please continue to be there for one another, support each other, love each other and "capture life".

Best of luck to all of the athletes competing today at the USAJR Open Qualifier. I truly wish that I could be there to cheer you on. Know that I'm there in spirit with you. Remember that today is another wonderful opportunity to take the floor of competition with your team mates, friends and competitors and to prove to them, the judges, friends and family the champion that you are. Have fun and I'm wearing my purple for support. 💜
