Our September tournament is officially in the books for the Whispering Pines Junior Golf Program! It was a great month filled with drills, on-course play, rules, and etiquette.

This month’s core value word was “Goals.” Our junior golfers set a goal to improve their game and play well in our end-of-the-month tournament. Our juniors achieved that goal, as we had some of the best scores turned in to date!

On the front 9, the match between the Cardinals and Red Hawks came down to the final scorecard and ended in a rare 12–12 tie. On the back 9, the Blue Jays were victorious over the Eagles, 14.5–9.5.

After the first tournament, the point standings are:

• Blue Jays – 14.5
• Cardinals – 12
• Red Hawks – 12
• Eagles – 9.5

With plenty of golf still ahead, the title is wide open heading into our final tournament!

A huge thank-you goes out to our coaches, parents, and sponsors for making this month a success. We’re excited for another great month of junior golf starting this week!

We would like to congratulate Preston Walker, Jantzen Hilbun, and Connor Phillips on accomplishing a major milestone in their journey toward becoming PGA Professionals. All three successfully passed the PGA Playing Ability Test (PAT), the first step toward earning their PGA Certification.

They traveled to Alexandria, Louisiana, where they completed the 36-hole test at OakWing Golf Club. The PAT is no easy challenge, requiring players to complete 36 holes in a single day while meeting a demanding target score of 157 after two rounds.

We are incredibly proud of Preston, Jantzen, and Connor for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to growing the game of golf. Congratulations on this outstanding achievement—we look forward to watching your continued success!
