The Kettle Creek Experience

Join Precision Fly Fishing for four days in the mountains of the Kettle Creek Valley, chasing wild brown trout and native brookies surrounded by some of Pennsylvania’s most beautiful and remote water.

We’ll be staying at Anderson Lodge and enjoying comfortable lodging, all meals, hosted fishing, access to Kettle Creek and its tributaries, and plenty of time to fish, learn, and enjoy the company.

This is a hosted—not fully guided—trip, with two Precision Fly Fishing hosts accompanying the group and helping with locations, techniques, reading water, fly selection, and more.

Come for the wild trout. Stay for the mountains, dark skies, campfires, and the experience.

SATURDAY FLY TYING - Suspending Ant

If fish aren’t taking high-floating terrestrials, they’re often looking for bugs struggling in the surface film!This ant pattern uses a foam cylinder up front with buggy dubbing in the rear to hang just below the surface while still maintaining a nice profile from below. Palmered CDC legs round out the fly, adding some movement and simulating a struggling ant. Fish it tight to the banks or under overhanging brush, and be ready when it hits the water; fish grab these bugs fast! If you’re having trouble tracking this fly, you can always put a dab of High N Dry Sighter Wax on top of the foam post!
