The floors are DOWN. The mirrors are mostly UP & we are officially exhausted! 😂

A few takeaways from this weekend:

🔨 I know what a countersinking screw is… and I NEVER want to see another #8 1-inch screw! 👌😂
🔨 I now know there is a difference between a retractable blade & jigsaw blade… and apparently blade length matters VERY much! 🤪
🔨 874 trips to Lowe’s. 🙃
🔨 At least ONE MORE trip, realistically 2-3. 😩😂
🔨 Oh… and I need one more mirror. 🤦🏼‍♀️

We’re not finished yet but tomorrow the trim is going in and TUESDAY WE DANCE! 💚💙

Okay… YOU ASKED, and I listened!

I’ve had a few parents reach out asking if I would be bringing back our Friday Creative Movement class, and with a little waitlist starting to form, I decided… LET’S DO IT! 🎉

✨ Creative Movement | Ages 3–5
🗓️ Fridays
⏰ 4:30–5:00 PM

This is such a fun little introduction to dance for our youngest dancers—lots of movement, music, imagination, and FUN!

I’ve always said I do my best work under pressure… 😝
So naturally, why wouldn’t I decide to build a sprung dance floor the week before opening?! 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

But hey… FIRST LAYER IS DOWN! 🙌🏼
Second layer going in tonight!

Huge thanks to 360 Painting of Central VA for letting us use the truck to haul all this wood home. Shoutout toErin Rowling and Justin Rowling who then carried it up the stairs😅, and an EXTRA huge shoutout to my husband Josh Donald who has been cutting, lifting, building, and dealing with all my crazy❤️

Well… basement flooding definitely wasn’t part of the plan 😂 but it forced me to finally clear out ALL the dance stuff from my basement, (all over my house really🙃) and into storage!

And while that chaos was happening, things at EDC are moving right along!
New drywall, new AC and the painters have started😁
Lights, Floors and mirrors next up!

In today’s episode of “How’s E.D.C. coming along?”… TA-DAH!!! 👏🏼😂🩰

Bye bye wall! 👋🏼 We opened up the main entrance, foyer & lobby and WOW… what a difference!

It already feels SO much bigger and more open!

I can already picture everyone walking through these doors! 🥹

OKAY… IT’S REALLY HAPPENING!!! 😍🩰🏗️

I figured it was time to give you guys a little peek at what has been happening with the NEW Energy Dance Center space!!

There’s been a LOT of dreaming, measuring, comparing, changing my mind 😂, trips to Lowe’s, paint samples, and trying to picture exactly how I want this space to feel.

Drywall is going in THIS WEEK and our new AC unit is on the way too!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼

We still have a ways to go and probably a million more decisions to make 😂, but seeing everything start to come together is SO exciting.

It won’t be long before this space is filled with dancers, music, laughter, and SO much dancing. 💚💙😊🥹😁

Happy 1st day back to school!! 📚🍎

I hope everyone has a great first day and an easy transition back into the school routine! Take these next few weeks to get settled into your new schedules, enjoy the last little bit of summer, and parents… enjoy a little quiet time! 😂
