State Championship game is today. If you are in Columbia we are playing Lexington High School at 1pm for the championship.

Fields are located across the street from Irmo High School on St Andrews Road. There is a bus parking lot and the pitch is directly behind it.

Great win for the Battling Bishops on Friday 19-14 over Lexington. Incredibly physical match against an opponent I am sure we will see again. I could not be more proud of the squad. We took an early lead thanks to a brilliant try off of a penalty by our scrum half Ian Butler. This was followed by a 90m run back of the ensuing kick off by fly half Joe Thatcher. With the win we take over sole possession of first place in our division from Lexington.

Kudos to the Hammer award winner for the match - Tavis Shaw. Tavis is a senior and a founding member of the club.

We are now 5-0 with 3 games left in the regular season schedule. With the break for the Easter holiday, our next match is not until April 8th.

Bishops are 4-0 at the midpoint of the season. 37 -15 win over Columbia. (7 tries to 3). Great start to the season. Hammer award went to Cj Bakle and Man of the Match to our scrum half, Ian Butler. Next match is March 18th against Lexington in Chapin. Lots of rugby to play towards our ultimate goal of winning a championship. Stay focused boys.

Hats off to our man of the match versus James island - Branden Baltimore. Way to go BDawg !

Job well done by the men of BE Rugby tonight. Seven tries and three conversions. Defeated James Island rugby 41-0. Great start to the 2016 campaign.

Congratulations to Bishops Rugby for making the playoffs in their second year of existence. Excellent work by the lads. Now on to the state tournament. Thanks to the boys from Bracebridge in Ontario, Canada for coming down to play us this evening. We had a nice social afterward over some real southern BBQ - This kind of post game camaraderie is what makes rugby the best game in the world. I'd like to reciprocate and go play them on their pitch (and maybe do some smallmouth & pike fishing).

BE Rugby Players -

We will be meeting at 300pm at Vespa Pizzeria on Daniel Island tomorrow (leaving at 330pm). There will be food so you can get a meal in before the match - you need to eat for the energy to compete for 60 minutes.

It is going to be cold - 35 degrees - so you will need to make sure that you are warm on the sidelines. For the match you can wear an underarmor shirt(tight fitting so it can't get grabbed). However, USA Rugby has ruled that you can not wear an...y form of leggings.

Looking forward to the match. Let's build on the good effort from last weekend.
