We’re kicking off our new Employee Spotlight series with a familiar face—you know her, you love her, it’s Katya!
Katya joined The I’On Club in March 2025, bringing a lifelong passion for swimming and an impressive international background to our aquatics team.
Originally from Kyiv, Ukraine, Katya grew up surrounded by the sport. Her father coaches the Ukrainian National Team, her younger sister competed internationally, and Katya went on to become a member of the Ukrainian National Swimming Team herself, representing her country on the international stage.
After earning her degree from the National University of Physical Education and Sport in Ukraine, Katya spent six years in Singapore teaching physical education and swimming at international schools. Most recently, she served as Aquatics Director at a new international school with more than 2,000 students, where she built its swim program from the ground up.
In 2024, Katya and her husband made the move to Charleston, and we’re so glad her journey brought her to I’On. Her positive, welcoming energy has been such a refreshing addition to the Club, and it’s easy to see why she has become such a familiar and well-loved face around the pool.
Katya and her husband are also expecting a baby girl in just a few months, and we can’t wait to welcome the newest addition to the I’On family!
