South Carolina Surf Soccer Club

Earlier this month, ECNL Boys 2012 forward, Wyatt Cannon, traveled to England to compete with the id2 National Selection Team on their international tour! 🔥

The id2 National Selection International Tour is part of a multi-stage progression for targeted players. Over 12,000 players, born in 2012, were scouted by US Club Soccer’s scouting network.

In February, at the id2 National Training Camp, more than 200 players participated in a week-long camp in Chula Vista, California. Then, the player pool narrowed further to about 70 players, who competed at the id2 National Selection Camp in Fairfax, Virginia.

From these camps, players - 18 boys and 18 girls - were selected to id2 National Selection boys and girls teams, the final element of programming. Selected players traveled internationally to train with each other and compete against some of the world’s best academy teams.

Numerous professional players are former id2 National Selection team members, including: Christian Pulisic, Lindsey Horan, Tim Weah, Trinity Rodman and Tyler Adams.

Players are submitted by their coaches based on their efforts, attitudes and performances throughout the week.

Congratulations to ECNL Girls players, Ava Klein and Sarah Ligon, who were invited to attend today’s U.S. Soccer Talent ID Center in Fayetteville, GA at the new Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center! 🔥

The event is a single-day player identification opportunity for top talents to train and play games under the direction of U.S. Soccer Talent Identification Managers.

👀 This Talent ID Center offers a unique opportunity for local players to utilize the NTC and play an outside opponent, Chile U17YNT!

Given the opportunity to play outside opposition the roster for the IDC is smaller than typical ID Centers.
