10U Chesapeake Flying Pigs

What a weekend for the Flying Pigs! 🐷⚾

These boys battled through scorching temperatures, tough competition, and a roller coaster of emotions all weekend long at the Summer Slam 9. After going 3-1 and fighting through some incredible games, they earned their spot in the Gold Bracket Championship.

The championship game was everything youth baseball should be—heart, grit, and determination. After falling behind early, the Pigs answered with a huge 6-run inning. An over-the-fence home run tied the game and completely shifted the momentum as we headed into the final inning.

Then came a finish that felt straight out of a movie.

Down a run again, with one out, the tying run on third and the winning run on base in the bottom of the 6th, a play at the plate recorded the second out. The throw was then fired down to third to catch a runner attempting to advance, ending the game in one of the most dramatic ways imaginable.

While the ending didn’t go our way, there is absolutely nothing to hang our heads about. This team showed resilience, heart, and a never-quit attitude every single game this weekend.

Congratulations to our players, coaches, and families on bringing home the Gold Bracket Runner-Up trophy. We are incredibly proud of this group and excited for what’s still ahead.

Keep your heads high, boys. You represented the Flying Pigs with class, toughness, and pride all weekend long. 💙🧡

🚨 CLUTCH MOMENT 🚨

With the Flying Pigs trailing in the Championship Game, Jordan Donnette stepped to the plate in the bottom of the 4th inning and delivered when it mattered most.

Jordan’s home run brought home the tying run, knotting the game at 9-9 and igniting the Flying Pigs sideline in a battle for the Summer Slam Championship!

Big-time players rise in big-time moments, and #23 answered the call.

Our second game is getting ready to start. We are delayed from previous games running long.

On to the next! In a close match, the Pigs got the win to advance to game two of bracket play. Scheduled for 4PM but previous games have been running behind.

The boys split the day going 1-1 in pool play earning the 9 seed out of 17 teams and the top seed of the Gold Bracket. We play tomorrow at noon vs the winner of the 16 and 17 seed game. Win and move on!

Our 6:00PM game will be starting at 5:20PM after our first pool play game ended in 4 innings with a score of 10-2 Pigs! 🐷

Our 4PM game will be starting early at 3:30PM due to previous games finishing early. 💙🧡

Summer Slam 9 kicks off this weekend. Some of our boys will be participating in the Home Run Derby Friday night and then pool play starts Saturday afternoon and evening for the Pigs. It will be a warm weekend!
