CMU Homecoming 5k Walk/Run to benefit Special Olympics Michigan

ARE YOU READDDYYYYY?! 🔥
The CMU Homecoming 5K is THIS SATURDAY and we’ve got a few important updates for you! 🏃‍♀️🎉

1. Early Packet Pick-Up:
Friday, October 24th, from 11 AM – 4 PM at the Special Olympics Michigan Building on CMU’s campus.

2. Race Day Registration:
Begins at 7:00 AM at Finch Fieldhouse.
Race begins at 8:15 AM.

3. Timing Update:
We’re trying a new timing system this year!
Timing will be available for the first 45 minutes of the race, and results will be posted afterward.
🏅 If you’re a contender for an award, please line up toward the front.
🚶 Walkers, please start toward the back.
A timing clock will be displayed at the start line.
💡 This new system is more cost-effective, allowing us to put more funds back toward the athletes!

4. Bib Reminder:
Your bib number must be visible if you would like to be timed.

5. Race Route:
The route for this year’s 5K is below! We’ll have arrows along the course, plus a biker leading the race and another following the last participant.

6. Awards:
🏆 Top Male & Female Overall
🎓 Most CMU Spirited
👟 Youngest Runner (12 & under – 5K only)

7. One-Mile Walk:
The One-Mile Walk will have its own route signs — please make sure to follow the correct signage!

We are SO excited for this Saturday and can’t thank you enough for kicking off your Homecoming weekend by supporting Special Olympics Michigan athletes!
