We want to inform you that on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., the Mount Prospect Police Department and neighboring law enforcement agencies will conduct bloodhound training throughout Woodland Trails Park. Please do not be alarmed if you see an increased police presence, this is a scheduled training exercise.

This search-and-rescue training helps bloodhound teams maintain the skills and readiness needed to track and locate missing people. Teams and vehicles will be clearly identified with police markings, and “Police Training” signs will be posted in active training areas.

The Prospect Heights Park District is pursuing funding through the Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program (ITEP) to improve the safety, accessibility, connectivity, and overall experience of the Prospect Heights Bike Path.
We want to hear from you! Whether you walk, bike, run, commute, or simply enjoy the trail, your feedback will help us identify community priorities and strengthen our ITEP grant application.
