The National Waste & Recycling Foundation is working with the U.S. Forest Service and Woodsy Owl on “Skip The Bin! Turn Your Batteries In!” a nationwide public awareness campaign promoting safe battery disposal.

Batteries have become an essential part of daily life: phones, laptops, gadgets, toys, and more. But when tossed in the trash or recycling bin, they can spark fires that destroy homes, trucks, recycling centers; even cost lives. The good news? Battery fires are preventable.
