The team traveled to West Palm Beach to compete at Forest Hill High School. This is the team’s first visit there. Our A and B teams came in 1st and 2nd place. We also had the top 3 highest individual scores with Jordyn Stapleton leading the way with 536. Alexis Studt tied her personal record of 529, and Derrick Gano had 528. There were some challenges during the match with everyone! It’s good to travel to other ranges and compete in different environments. I’m proud of the way the teams handled adversity! We will learn from this match and use it next week in the Junior Air National qualifier.

NEW THREE-POSITION AIR R***E RULES RELEASED

Three-Position Air R***e (3PAR) has grown to become the most popular junior r***e program in the USA. Its massive participation base includes more than 2,000 high school JROTC programs, hundreds of 4-H Shooting Sports clubs and several hundred junior r***e clubs.

An estimated 250,000 to 300,000 American youth participate annually in 3PAR marksmanship programs, with many of them engaging in 3PAR competition events. The national governing body for this major youth sports program is the National Three-Position Air R***e Council. The Council governs this discipline through its rulebook, the National Standard Three-Position Air R***e Rules (3PAR Rules).

3PAR Rules are revised and reissued on a bi-annual basis. The newest version of these rules, the 16th Edition 2026-2028 Rules, has just been released. An electronic version of the new rulebook can be downloaded from the CMP website. Printed copies of the new rulebooks will be available in a few weeks.

The CMP provides staff support for the National Council’s junior air r***e programs, including the publication of the National Standard Rules and the conduct of its competition championships. Anyone who wants information regarding the Three-Position Air R***e Program should contact the CMP Staff via email at [email protected].

This past week we have been hosting the Wounded Warrior match with 18 teams and 85 sporter and 13 precision athletes competing. Congratulations to A team for finishing in 1st place and B team finished in 3rd place. Aaliyah Soto was the overall top athlete with a score of 548, Jordyn Stapleton in 2nd with 537! Diosely Morales in 4th, Derrick Gano 5th, and Trey Byrd in 7th! That’s 5 of the top 7 athletes from Mulberry! Lila Larrow competed in the precision category and finished in third place with a 575 and BTW her r***e went kaput the day before and we had to switch her to a completely new r***e! So, she did an excellent job with her mental game not allowing this to bring her down! Also like to mention one of the new team members Marijerlyn Aquino that just made the team 2 weeks ago shot a 430! Great job! Next up for the team is we travel to Sickles HS on October 10. So far we’ve competed in 2 matches and we’re 2-0!

Sign Up for 2026-2027 JROTC Three-Position Postal Competition

Mark your calendars! Registration for the 2026-2027 JROTC Three-Position Air R***e Postal Competition season is set to open Sept. 28.

Hosted by the CMP, this national-level 3×10 event welcomes high school junior cadets of varying experience levels from Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and Space Force JROTC programs who are interested in competing with other youth athletes from around the country in sporter or precision disciplines.

To compete, participants receive three targets and instructions for recording scores. Individuals then fire in three positions (kneeling, prone and standing) at their home ranges – using one target for each position. Once record shots are fired, athletes return targets to CMP for scoring by mail or through the Orion Visual Image Scoring system.
