‘I Tried Scuba’ is a fantastic program for people who want to try out scuba diving before taking our 7 week course. In this two hour program students will spend one hour in the classroom learning safe scuba diving training and all the opportunities you will have as an Open Water Diver should they continue their scuba diving education with us. Ages 10 and up!

In the one hour pool session, students will be asked to complete a short swim (prior to being shown how to use mask, snorkel and fins). After practicing with basic equipment you will have a chance to put on scuba gear and swim underwater with an instructor for a tour at the bottom of the pool. Bring a swimsuit and a towel.

Want to gain experience diving in darker and low visibility environments?

Join us August 29th for a Review Session in the classroom followed by two night dives.

Many divers find that night diving is their favorite type of diving.
As with all specialty diving applications, procedures are different than those associated with open water diving. The purpose of this course is to acquaint the open water diver with the procedures, techniques, and potential hazards associated with diving at night, or in limited visibility. Becoming familiar with the use of dive lights, and night diving techniques such as navigation, buddy system procedures, communications, buoyancy control, and interacting with nocturnal aquatic life, the diver can safely enjoy night diving.

Hello divers! Due to the storms and flooding in the area, Philips Outdoor Center will not be open today, Thursday August 13th or tomorrow Friday August 14th. The roads surrounding the quarry are flooded and unsafe to travel, as well as the road leading up to the quarry. The quarry itself is at a high risk of being flooded from the river water as well. We will keep you updated as conditions change. Please stay safe!
