Some blue photos from the quarry last Sunday! Thank you Delaware Diver Club members Shane and Shannon for these shots of one of our local paddlefish and baby bluegills! Come on out and join us for a dive this week!

The grass is greener and right now the quarry is looking BLUE! We’ve treated the water with a dye that will help keep the upper water looking clear this season! Come on out and join us for a dive. This blue hue is not harmful to our local critters or local divers. This Sunday we’ve got some locals diving around 9am and our Delaware Divers are having a food pitch in and dive at 1pm. Come on out and enjoy the fun!

Hello Divers!

The water is getting warmer! The upper 15 feet is in the low 70s. Below that is still high 50s until you get closer to the bottom where it’s about 45 degrees. The quarry water has been treated with a blue dye that will prevent further unwanted algae growth and get rid of some the algae that has bloomed in the upper water. The fish are still happily welcoming divers for the season. You will see lots of baby bluegill and bass in the shallows. The larger bluegill have started making their rounds along the different diver features. We are also still having frequent paddlefish sightings!

For the most comfort during a dive drysuits, 7mm wetsuits and 5mm wetsuits with hood and definitely gloves are still recommended.

If you haven’t gone diving yet this season it’s important to note that there is a new entrance into Philips Outdoor Center. You can only get into the quarry by approaching it from the East on East Main Street. There is a right hand turn into the new road created that leads up to the gate. If you are approaching from the West on West Jackson Street you will need to drive past the quarry and make a U-Turn at Bunch Blvd. If you have any questions or need assistance getting into the quarry please call us at the Dive Center! 765-288-8144.
