Cowan Blackhawks Softball Team

Last night, Cowan Softball gathered to celebrate the season at our year-end banquet.

We recognized an impressive list of accomplishments. From career milestones to academic achievements, this team set a high standard and represented our program with excellence. To list:

Candice Matson - 12th varsity letter, Hall of Fame
Taylor Young - Academic All-State Honorable Mention
Savannah Hall - Defensive Player of the Year, MVP
Addison Bowling - Miss Clutch Award
Evelyn Hahn - Mental Attitude Award
Victoria Kirby - Most Improved Award
Karleigh Wheadon - Most Improved Award

A special thank you was given to our four outstanding seniors. Their leadership, work ethic, and dedication to the program have left a lasting impact both on and off the field. While their playing days as Blackhawks have come to an end, they will forever remain an important part of our softball family.

A heartfelt thank you as well to our amazing “team moms,” Kim Hiatt and Rachel Young, for all the time, care, and encouragement they poured into our players and program. Your dedication did not go unnoticed, and is sincerely appreciated.

We would also like to recognize every parent, player, our student managers, and coaches who helped make this season so memorable. The success of this program is built on the support and commitment of so many people, and is how it continues.

Recognition doesn’t come easy. It takes a lot of hard work. Behind the scenes are the early mornings, late nights, setbacks, sacrifices, and countless hours of work. Nothing is given and everything is earned.

Proud of these ladies, and equally proud of their teammates who pushed, encouraged, and worked alongside them every step of the way.

A huge accomplishment for our P/SS, Savannah Hall, who has earned a well-deserved spot on the SCAI 1A/2A Third Team All-State! Her hard work and dedication are truly paying off. Hats off, No. 5!

Today, we celebrate the 2026 team's many accomplishments. What a fantastic year! There is so much to be proud of for this amazing group of ladies.

The Lady Blackhawks' postseason run came to an end last night in the Regional Championship, falling 10-1.
