Think fast: What's one of the best pieces of firefighting and lifesaving equipment?
Answer: A closed door.
A closed door can hinder flames and smoke from spreading to other rooms and can help deprive a fire of the oxygen it needs to grow, limiting the structural damage a fire can cause and, most importantly, saving lives. In fact, closing doors to quarantine a fire is an age-old technique used by firefighters that homeowners should always keep in mind.
Remember:
-Close the bedroom door when sleeping, if possible.
-Close doors behind you when escaping a room or building that's on fire.
-Keep fire doors closed. Never wedge, disable or prop open fire doors in any building.

Good afternoon everyone. I just received an email from the hotel for the conference and the cutoff date is April 3, 2016. We only have 60 rooms that have been reserved out of 126. Which puts the group in attrition. So we need to tell everyone that plans on coming to the conference they need to book their rooms before the 3rd of April. Or we will lose the block of rooms. Get your rooms before they are gone!!!

Our organization is dedicated to supporting important fire investigation and prevention efforts across Tennessee, with our primary mission being to help fund and sustain the TN Arson Hotline.
The hotline plays a critical role in helping investigators receive tips related to suspected arson, ultimately assisting law enforcement and fire officials in protecting our communities. Through partnerships with supportive organizations like yours, we are able to continue maintaining this valuable resource.
We would be honored to have your company participate as a sponsor. While we certainly welcome your attendance at the event, please know that attendance is not required to become a sponsor. Many partners choose to support the mission even if they are unable to attend in person, and that support makes a meaningful difference.
If you are interested in becoming a sponsor or would like additional information about sponsorship opportunities, I would be happy to provide more details.
You can register online as a sponsor at the following link: TN Advisory Committee on Arson - 2026 TACA Training Conference - Franklin, TN
Sponsors would be set up Wednesday May 6th and Thursday May 7th of the event.
Thank you for considering supporting this important effort and helping us continue funding the TN Arson Hotline and the work it enables across our state.
