Hi 👋🏼 Sorry I have been silent on here. If you havent heard, my recovery process was A LOT more complicated than they initially thought. It’s been about 6 months and I’m slowly getting back to normal. Most of my days have been about my recovery so I decided to start a project. Today I started Swim Angelfish Level Two and can’t wait to try out everything I am learning.

Hello 👋🏼 Sorry it has been crickets here but I do have big news.

About a month ago I was diagnosed with a benign, not life threatening brain tumor. I’m thankful for the good news but it is still a major surgery with a minimum of 6 weeks recovery. Depending on my symptoms I might take a little longer to come back to lessons.

My surgery is scheduled for early May. I will work up until that date. However, I still have to balance my administrative duties and family life along with my lessons.

I will accept new clients under one condition; you have to be patient with me. I get daily migraines that are caused by eye strain, vertigo and lightheadedness. So I’m pretty slow to respond to text messages and messages on here. I’m also a SAHM with my own autistic child so I’m prioritizing making sure my home and family are ready for the road ahead.

I will be back to lessons but I am not sure when. Follow my page to get updates about my journey and when I will return.

On my last Target run, I stopped by the swimsuit section and snapped pictures of swimsuits that I would buy for my kids.

By now I am sure you have heard that the color of your kids swimsuit matters. But just in case you haven’t, I have included a very helpful picture. It shows the color of the swimsuit and what it looks like on the pool bottom with still water and with agitated water. Notice how some colors just blend right in and others stick out.

So what should you do with those blue or white swim suits that you already have? Save them for the splash pad or backyard inflatable pools.

Speechless is an understatement 🙌 Yesterday, the National Drowning Prevention Alliance presented us, alongside the Swim Angelfish family and community, with the Lifesaver of the Year award for all of our work and efforts to reduce the drowning statistics within the special needs population to help everyone become safer and more independent in the water 🫶

Although kids under three are not my speciality, I am not opposed to taking on younger kids

Zoggs Seal flips are a great activity to teach blowing bubbles. The seal sits on top of the water and when you blow on it, it flips over. To get these to work you have to blow hard and keep your face close to the surface of the water. This is a great toy for kids who are scared in the pool. You can start practicing in the bathtub and then transition to the pool. My only complaint is that they are hard to find online.
