The study of our lineage continues with 9th degree red belt and third son of Helio, Rickson Gracie.

Rickson entered his first competition at age 6; was teaching by 15 and was awarded his black belt at 18. By 25, he was considered the best fighter in the Gracie family. For almost two decades he reigned as World Jiu Jitsu champion in both middle heavy weight and open divisions. While training his brother Royce for the UFC, Rickson made his name in Japan with Pride Fighting Championships. During his career he went undefeated in BJJ, No Holds Barred and MMA competitions. If you talk to Rickson, his record is 465-0. His dad disagrees since the majority were unsanctioned. His last fight was supposed to be against Kasushi "The Gracie Hunter" Sakuraba, who had defeated every Gracie he had fought. The fight was cancelled after the tragic death of his son Rockson Gracie. Rickson would never compete again. In 2014 he became an inductee of the Legends of MMA Hall of Fame and continues to teach to this day.
