Hundreds of us lined up at that start line, and every one of them had at least one (if not multiple) names they were walking for.
One of mine was my Mom, Nancy Clouse.
About 2 years ago to the day, my mom got really sick. Sick enough dad took her to the hospital…and if you know my parents that is a big deal. Long story short, the issues she was battling were being caused by a small, but growing tumor on her pituitary gland. She was brought to the James Cancer Center where she spent nearly a month being cared for and treated by the BEST in the business. Her tumor was benign, but needed to be removed all the same. The technology and procedure used was developed here at the James, and the surgeon who performed the surgery assisted in the development. To say we were confident in her care is an understatement. Mom is doing great, and we have The James to thank. What a blessing to return some of that gratitude in this way.
Thank you to SO many who have given already in the last day. I will share that the first $200 was out of my own pocket. Not asking anyone to do what I am not willing to do myself.
