Read on to see what sets us apart from everyone else. We build with imported 3/4" Baltic Birch plywood which has 13 layers and manufactured with a waterproof glue. It is made entirely from hardwood birch, there aren't any soft wood filler layers that create voids or air pockets in the sheet. It's much denser and heavier than domestic play and is the preferred choice for cabinet makers. The frames
are made up of 3 cross braces and 2 side rails all precision milled from the same Baltic Birch plywood the rest of the board are made from. "Dado joints" are cut into the side rails, creating a channel for the cross brace. The joint is then held together with glue and pocket holes hidden from the inside of the frame. Dado joints are used in fine woodworking and professional cabinet makers. They are one of the many standard built in features setting us apart from the masses. Each board weighs approximately 30 pounds. To make them easy to transport we cut a nice sized handle into the center of each side rail for carrying. Our boards carry much like a briefcase. The handle prevents the boards from flopping around while being carried minimizing them from accidental bumps. These finely crafted boards have legs that swing out and fold away with an "air mail brace" connecting them together. The brace provides both stability to the board and stopping any bags coming straight through the hole from exiting the rear. Just like the frames, we cut a dado into the legs to secure the brace. It takes a lot of time to do, but we know you're investing in an heirloom piece to impress your friends, and last a lifetime, so we're going to make them do just that. The last piece of wood to discuss is the playing surface, the top or deck as it's referred to. We put a nice radius onto the four corners to prevent damage to both the board and bags when they hit it. We do not use Stickers or Vinyl wraps on our boards. We do cut temporary stencils to help get the look we're after then hand stain or paint. Sometimes we have to use multiple sets of stencils due to touching colors and or complex designs. If a design is too complex we may send the boards out to be printed on a huge flatbed printer. The artwork is really the only price variable. After all the pieces are finished, prior to final assembly we spray a massive amount, about a quart, of clear coat protectant on the boards. This makes them water resistant, not water proof. Boards should be kept in a cool dry place when not in use. Never left outdoors overnight. If they accidently are, please make sure to wipe off any moisture like morning dew from them as quickly as possible.
