Sockey Sockey is a game invented by Lanita Nelson Leonard and Dr. David J. Leonard combining hockey and soccer for girls and boys/men and women of all ages.

The sockey gathering went really well on August 19, thanks to all those who helped put up the field... and especially to all those who came and played! It was so good seeing old and new (and young!) faces again coming together to watch and play sockey. We've got to do this again more often!

I heard "We are the Champions" on the radio the other day and this reminded me of when Doug Yonkers was singing it as he left the sockey field having just led his team to victory in the championship game all those years ago... And this made me realize that it is now the 35th anniversary of sockey. So I think we had best do something this summer to commemorate this - something fun.
