If you know someone that lives in Lexington County and have children, this looks like a great opportunity for them to get involved in archery.
Okay Lexington County 4-H! You've been asking about an archery club pretty much ever since I started this job several years ago, so we found a club leader who is very excited and has some great ideas. I think y'all are going to really like her and she brings a ton of archery experience to the table; she'll be taking the required training so she'll be ready for the new program year. That being said, we're going to be putting on an interest/organizational meeting to take the temperature of the county and see what kind of interest we really have. I do understand that the new program year has not started yet, but put this one on your calendar so you can see if this is something your kids would be interested in - obviously bring your kids too lol. More information to follow as to whether we're going to have the kids bring what equipment they might have, based on that we'll know if anyone has their own equipment or if I'm going to have to get creative and find a generous benefactor to help us out with equipment. Put it on your calendar folks! Questions - fire away!

Attention members!
Effective immediately, the club is officially closed. The county moved the time line up a bit and heavy equipment starting arriving today. We are finishing packing up this week.

We are saddened tonight to learn of the passing of Richard Rodgers. He was an incredibly nice guy and a great archer. My daughter and I have had the pleasure of shooting with Richard several times. Recently, I had the honor of presenting him with the SCAA Shooter of the Year Award. Please keep his family and his archery family at Midlands Archery Center in your prayers.

Hello friends. We are going to have 1 final shoot on October 4th. This 3D shoot will be a fundraiser for the St. James HS Army ROTC program. Their booster club will be running this event with our assistance. All money collected will go to their program.
The booster club raises money to support the archery, marksmanship and raider teams. They also pay for many events the ROTC does throughout the year. They have a great program and need our help.
We know it's a busy time right now with hunting season, but let's get together one last time before the club closes and support this great program.
This will be a limited class tournament as follows:
Adult Male and Female:
Open class 50yrd max
Bowhunter 30yrd max
Recurve 25yrd max
Olympic Recurve 25yrd max
Under 18 Male and Female:
Open class 45yrd max
Bowhunter 30 yrd max
Recurve 25 yrd max
Olympic Recurve 25 yrd max.

Hello Everyone
Please see below note from President Cory Bader for the most recent update regarding Sandune's future.
Dear Members,
I hope everyone has been well. In my previous letter we outlined the issues we were facing with
the range closing due to development inside the park. I am writing with an update.
We were not able to find a new spot for the club. The properties we were pursuing with both the
County and SCDNR are not a viable option. This has left us without a practical space to move
the club to.
We have been told the timeline for us needing to be out of the park has been pushed back. As
such, we would like to announce one last Shoot for the Sandune Archery Club. This will be held
on Saturday, October 4th. Additional details will follow in the upcoming weeks. The club will
remain open to members until then.
If you have any questions, please contact the club. Thank you.
Cory Bader
