District 11 Officials:

Please see below for a few important items for your attention over the next few weeks:

DISTRICT 11 DUES
Please pay your District dues at the link below. Thus far, we have had 43 officials pay their dues for this season. All payments are online through Arbiter effective this year. No cash or check will be accepted. No games will be assigned to an individual prior to dues being paid.

SCHSL DUES
Please pay your SCHSL dues at the link below. Thus far, we have had 31 officials pay their state dues for this season. State dues are required as they include your background check, rule book and insurance coverage.

IAABO DUES
If you have not yet paid dues for IAABO and would like to be an IAABO member this year, contact Mike Hirschman directly. Do NOT use any online link to pay dues. You will be instructed by Mike on how to best proceed since we are well beyond the registration deadline.

MEETINGS & RULEBOOKS
Our first meetings will be held Sunday, September 13 in Georgetown and Monday, September 14 at Coastal Carolina's Williams-Brice Building. It is important that you attend on one of these evenings so that you can pick up your rulebook and casebook (assuming you have paid your SCHSL dues). IAABO manuals will also be distributed at these meetings for those who have paid their IAABO membership.

The full meeting schedule for this year is listed at the bottom of this post. Please note that there will be a midweek online meeting this year because Labor Day falls later in the calendar. All meetings will be recorded and available on Zoom for those with other commitments. Zoom links will be sent out weekly.

EXAM DATE
If you are not already aware, the SCHSL exam is slated for Saturday, October 24. It will be administered at Horry Georgetown Technical College in Conway. (Time TBD.) Please be sure to block this morning in your calendars so that you may attend the exam. Make-up will be held October 26 in Columbia.

PHYSICALS
A reminder that all officials are required by the SCHSL to have a basic physical before each season. If you are a football official, your football physical will suffice. The link to the SCHSL physical form is listed below. After your physical is complete, return this form to Steve Anderson, District 11 Secretary.

All officials are required to attend at least one meeting in person at which time rule books and case books are issued. SCHSL requires officials to attend six meetings each year.

Reminder:

Officials should register for the upcoming season and pay their dues BEFORE classes start next month to receive rule books in a timely fashion.

As of this morning, 34 of our officials have paid their district dues and 22 have paid their SCHSL dues for the upcoming season.

Links were sent to all officials and prospective officials to register for the 2026-27 season. There are two separate links: one for the SCHSL and one for District 11. Each include the process to pay your dues for the season.

Upcoming Dates for Officials to Know:

NOW: SCHSL and District 11 registration portals are open for the 2026-27 season on Arbiter. Links to both have been sent in email.

September 14: Preseason meetings will begin at Coastal Carolina.

October 24: SCHSL Exam at HGTC in Conway. (Yes, you read that correctly!)

October 26: SCHSL Make-up Exam in Columbia.

November 9: First scrimmage date.

November 20: Regular season begins.

February 12: End of regular season.

February 15: First day for playoffs.

March 4-6: State finals in Columbia. (NOTE: Lower state finals will not be played in Florence. They will be played at assorted neutral venues.)

South Carolina Basketball Officials District 11 is looking for new officials for the 2026-27 season. Classes start Sept. 14 at Coastal Carolina University.

SCBOA District 11 officiates scholastic basketball in Horry, Georgetown, Williamsburg & parts of Florence County. We are also members of IAABO (International Association of Approved Basketball Officials) as Board 411.

Meanwhile, by request of a few folks, the form for the annual required physical exam is linked below. If you get a physical as a football official, hang onto it as that same physical can be used for basketball.

June is here and that means summer basketball scrimmages. District 11 officials will cover close to 200 summer scrimmages in the month of June.

REMINDER: For all officials, there is a Zoom call tonight (Thursday) at 8 pm to discuss new rules and the upcoming summer league schedule.
