Giving God Your Best Yes with guest Jess Cutler - ep 243 03/18/2024

Hi friends!!! I recently had the pleasure of joining my friend, and business coach, Erin Harrigan on her podcast, Redefining Hustle. Check it out here! 🩷

Giving God Your Best Yes with guest Jess Cutler - ep 243 It is said when you say YES to something, you're saying no to something else. But how do you give God your best YES for His best plan for you?

Re-Envents Episode 4: How to Heal A Bitter Heart 02/22/2024

Happy ! Time to revisit the 4th and final episode of the “Pre-Podcast” Thank you for taking this trip down memory lane with me and I look forward to returning soon with new episodes! Stay tuned for a relaunch date for the new season!

A heart that is bitter can make even the most selfless person feel unkind and years of boundary violations generate great anger. In this episode, I was able to confront the source of my bitterness and anger and find healing.

"No" has always been an easy word to say when faced with danger or bad options, but saying "No" to the good was never an option for me. By understanding how guilt - the fear of hurting others - has been manipulating my acts of service - I have worked to regain control of my life by learning how to say "No" - sometimes - to the good.

On my quest to live an |N|tentional life - I have finally begun to recognize that Saying "Yes" to everything that is "good" - meant saying "No" to everything that was "great." Who wants good - when they know they have great?!

Discovering the freedom to love and serve others by developing and respecting her own boundaries has been the source of my heart healing and has paved the way on this road to re|N|vention.

Re-Envents Episode 3: How Successful... Stuck... People Grow 02/08/2024

It is again, that means it is time to revisit one of the first few episodes of the ENSPIRES Podcast.

You must know yourself to grow yourself. Who wouldn’t consider themselves humble, patient or kind? After spending $4.97 on John Maxwell's: How Successful People Grow, only a few chapters in I realized these were words I couldn’t use to describe myself.

After joining a local support group, the first books on their journey were 10 Women of the Bible by Max Lucado and Forgiving What you Can’t Forget by Lysa Terkeurst, which led me to discover where my anger was coming from and how bitterness had consumed my heart.

Happy , friends! As I mentioned before, we are going to be using January and February to revisit the early days of what eventually became the ENSPIRES Podcast.

Re-Envents Episode 1: Hello World - I'm NOT Ready for my Close-Up 01/11/2024

Hello friends, and Happy New Year!

As I mentioned when I dropped my cover of "Where Are You Christmas" I am so grateful that you have decided to take this journey with me as we learn to live with intention, explore our own unique gifts, and discover our purpose. I still have so much to share, and quite a few guests lined up to share their stories with you. I cannot wait to see what this year brings to the ENSPIRES Podcast. That being said, I have mentioned my other endeavors on this podcast multiple times, one of which is a course that is scheduled to launch at the end of this month! (Shoutout, ENFORMS!) You guys have heard me talk about boundaries over and over again, and if I have learned anything over the last few years, it is that I actually cannot do it all, no matter how much my brain may say, "Yeah...? Watch me."

I have decided to take the next four episodes to step back in time and re-share the first four episodes of this podcast that came out well over two years ago. This was before the upgraded mics, camera, lights, and the whole crew I have now. It was just me, a camera, and my husband figuring it all out ourselves. We were just emerging out of lockdown from a global pandemic, and my event company that I had been building for the previous 5 years basically crumbled at my feet overnight... so this was me picking up those pieces and reintroducing the world to the new Jessica. I share these episodes again, hoping that they will find at least one person who needs to hear this message.

So again, friends. I thank you again for tuning in and for giving me the grace to take this time to use these first few weeks of the year to quiet my mind, be with the Lord, and launch these courses. I look forward to coming back full force in a few weeks with more stories of reinvention, encouragement, and insights.

I thought I would share a poem I wrote here just in case someone else needed to hear it. It is so easy to get caught up in the craziness of this time of year. It is important to stop and focus on what actually matters. Merry Christmas, y'all. 🎄💜

ENSPIRES Episode 24: Where Are You Christmas? A Special Gift For You 12/21/2023

Dear Listeners,

As we approach the end of this year, I want to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you who has tuned in to my podcast. Your support and engagement have made this journey incredibly meaningful. This week's episode is a little different than normal, as I take a moment to share a rendition of "Where Are You Christmas?" a song that really speaks to me this year. I would also like to share a poem I wrote called “Who has time for Christmas?” This piece reflects the inner struggles many of us face in the midst of life's chaos and highlights the true essence of the holiday season. As I share my thoughts through song and verse, I invite you to join me in embracing the simplicity and profound meaning that this time of year holds. Your continued support means the world to me, and I'm excited to share this unique episode with you. Thank you for being a part of this journey, and here's to a season filled with love, joy, and reflection

With love,

“Who has time for Christmas?”
I said to myself this year.
I’ve got goals and dreams and deadlines,
there’s no time for Christmas cheer.

Dinner with family and drinks with a friend,
my day’s just a blur, I'm not sure where it starts and ends.
No time for shopping and wrapping presents and peace.
And don’t even start with me about cooking a feast.

I’ve got too much on my plate for the parties and fun.
You don’t understand -
I can’t stop til’ the job is done.

So I push and I press and I work and I write,
and I crash in the bed - barely able to sleep at night.
And I call this my purpose, living the dream,
Even though I feel something missing, maybe, it seems.

“What am I missing?!”
I ask God above,
I’m only trying to ‘glorify you’
and ‘serve others with love.’

Gently He reminds me, “What are you trying to prove?
Do you not think I can make mountains move?
You’re pushing and pressing and striving in stress,
so you’re missing the right motive,
that’s why your life is a mess.

I don’t need you to take on the world,
I just need you to be my little girl.
To sit in the stillness and come close to me,
to tell me your problems and find true peace.

To rest in the knowledge that I sent my son
so long ago to get the job done.
To be born on this earth as a man among men,
to glorify me and die for your sins.

So all this driving and striving and stressing and strife
does me no good - if you’re not alright.
If you can’t stop for a moment to take a breath and see
that this season isn’t about another gift under the tree.

It isn’t another event to be planned.
It’s not another dinner or drink with a friend.
It isn’t about shopping and cooking or worse...
It’s not about deadlines and what gets done first."

As I listened to Him and His words fell on my heart,
I knew I was missing was the most important part.
The presence of purpose in a pure heart of love
that began with a baby sent down from above

The knowledge and faith for His will to be done,
And not by my works - but through His son.
And no matter how hard or desperate I strive,
There's nothing He requires but to walk by His side.

To rejoice in this season with thankfulness and grace,
with no need to be running all over the place.
To stop for a second to remember why I’m here,
And not just at Christmas but all through the year.

Is there a right and wrong way to brain dump?

Yes and no. You can (and should) brain dump in any way that works for you, but the best brain dumps leave you with a clear mind and a clear plan of action to move forward with. It just so happens that I have a process for that. Will you let me share it with you?

This episode of ENSPIRES is about how to stop the stress spiral and have a successful and productive brain dump. We’re recapping the three-step process to stop a stress spiral and diving deeper into the brain dump step so that you can see exactly how I brain dump my thoughts to clear my mind and make a plan.

Topics covered in this episode include:

The two most common types of stress spirals
The steps of a productive brain dump
How to prioritize your tasks
Tools you can use to help you with your brain dumps

I want to reiterate that you should brain dump in any way that works for you, but if you’re looking for some guidance, I’ve got you covered.

In life, it's not about how many times you fall; it's about how many times you get back up and try again. My incredible niece is a shining example of resilience and determination. 💪

Just before this video was captured, she tried to climb to the top and fell back down to the bottom, leaving her in tears, feeling defeated. But she looked up to me and said "I can't do it, Aunt Jess." In that moment, I knew I had to be her biggest cheerleader, her unwavering support.

I told her, "Yes, you can. I believe in you. You can do hard things." 🌈

What happened next is a testament to the power of belief, both in ourselves and from the ones who love us. With newfound strength and determination, she returned to that inflatable wall and conquered it all the way to the top, all by herself! 🧗‍♀️

This video reminds us that we all have the strength within us to rise above our doubts and fears. It's a beautiful reminder that with the right support and self-belief, we can achieve the impossible.

So, when life presents you with challenges, remember this moment, and know that you too can climb your own 'inflatable wall.' Believe in yourself and your abilities, and you'll be amazed at what you can accomplish.

Does trying to lower your stress make you feel more stressed?

I’ve been there, and I think I can help.

This is the first installment of a two-part series on stress management. I’m sharing a three-step process you can use to stop the stress spiral. You know that feeling when the overwhelm takes over and you can’t think about anything else? Yeah, that. It’s not a fun experience and it holds you back from getting to work addressing the issue at hand.

Learning to stop the spiral is going to help you lower your stress levels and in turn, improve your health. Less stress and better health? It’s a win-win.

What is the secret to a fulfilling life? Why don’t we ask someone who’s lived one?

I’m honored to be joined by my mamaw, Lucille Marshall for one of my favorite episodes of the ENSPIRES podcast to date. I sat down to chat with her about her life and hear some of the wonderful stories that I know she has to offer.

You’ll hear about where her parents came from, when she met her husband, how she discovered her love of art, and how her faith has guided her through it all.

We laugh, we cry, and of course, we talk and talk. Come and enjoy a heartfelt conversation between a mamaw and her granddaughter. This is the story of my grandmother’s life.

Has anyone else been feeling uninspired lately?

That’s hard for me to admit, but I just want to put it out there. It can feel really lonely when you’re struggling but you’re seeing everyone’s highlights on social media and it seems like they’re all doing great. I want the ENSPIRES podcast to be a space where we can all show up and find love and acceptance no matter where we’re at, so this is me showing up as I am.

I figured if I’m feeling burnt out and uninspired right now, I’m probably not the only one, so I wanted to share some tips for getting out of a slump and moving from burnout to balance, and it starts with simplifying your life.
