I first began working with children around 2003–2004 while attending Polk State College. My work with young people became consistent in 2010, and I have continued serving them through coaching, fitness, mentorship, and youth development into 2026.
I am currently a youth sports coach, athletic trainer, mentor, and founder of the Elite 8 Youth Training summer program. I’ve had the privilege of working consistently with some of the same children for the past five to six years. I have also led military-style fitness boot camps at Burgess Elementary and St. James Elementary during Military Appreciation Week, working with each grade level through exercise, teamwork, discipline, and—most importantly—fun.
What I love most is watching children grow in confidence, discipline, character, and self-belief. Sports and fitness may bring us together, but the real purpose is helping them recognize their ability, overcome challenges, and understand that someone genuinely believes in them.
It has been a long journey filled with many years, many lessons, and many young lives. To be recognized for work that comes from my heart truly means a lot to me. Thank you again for this honor.
