Just another day at work in South Carolina! šŸŠšŸ¤£

Looked over at this little pond and spotted one BIG ASS alligator! That joker has gotta be eating good! šŸ˜‚

Opening day for public land today!šŸ¦ŒšŸ‚

Got out in the woods early this morning and was fortunate enough to take a doe! But pulling the trigger was only the beginning of the adventure.

Now comes the tracking! A little blood here, a little blood there, a fork in the trail, and even some evidence of a little flippity flop!

Come along as I follow the trail and see where it leads!

Found this little guy hanging out in the woods!

Pretty cool looking, right? Straight out of Super Mario! šŸ„

But unlike the video game, this mushroom isnā€™t giving you any extra lives! Fly agaric mushrooms contain psychoactive compounds that can cause hallucinations, confusion, nausea, and some seriously unpleasant experiences.

Definitely one of those things thatā€™s better to admire than eat!

Have yā€™all ever come across one of these in the wild?

A cold front, some fresh rain, deer tracks, turkey tracksā€¦ and suddenly getting that stand set up isnā€™t the only thing on my mind!

Anybody else get a little too excited when they start seeing fresh sign in the woods?

Fishing season isnā€™t over, but deer season is definitely calling!

One minute Iā€™m thinking about where to make my next cast, and the next Iā€™m thinking about getting back in the woods.

Between getting the deer stand ready and trying out the new hunting blind Sherry got me, Iā€™ve got plenty to look forward to!

The fish arenā€™t getting rid of me just yet, though. šŸ¤£

Anybody else trying to balance fishing and hunting this time of year?

Sherry and I put some of our homegrown jalapeƱos to good use and spent a little time in the kitchen pickling and canning them!

Thereā€™s just something satisfying about growing your own food and finding ways to enjoy it long after the growing season is over.

The problem with exploring new water?

You never know whatā€™s around the next bend! Sometimes itā€™s the perfect fishing hole. Other times, youā€™re wondering why you thought this was a good idea in the first place.

But thatā€™s half the fun of fishing somewhere new. You never know what adventure youā€™re getting yourself into!

Anybody else spend more time exploring new fishing spots than actually catching fish?

FINALLY!!!

The heat is backing off, the air feels good, and itā€™s finally starting to feel like the kind of weather that makes you want to grab a fishing rod and disappear for a few hours.

Now, whether the fish decide to cooperate is a whole different story!

Anybody else been waiting for some cooler fishing weather?

Just minding my own business when I spotted a gator in a roadside pond.

Naturally, I had to turn around and show yā€™all.

Turns out, he wasnā€™t the only one hanging around! Just another day in South Carolina, where even a quick drive can turn into a little wildlife adventure.
