In response to the current air quality conditions affecting the Treasure Valley, the City of Nampa has made the decision to close both municipal outdoor swimming pools effective immediately, and until air quality improves. Additionally, all nonessential outdoor employee functions will be limited unless deemed critical for public safety or infrastructure.
• Lakeview Water Park (1304 7th Street North) and Lincoln Pool (508 Davis Avenue) will be closed immediately, and until air quality improves.
• Centennial Golf Course and Ridgecrest Golf Club will remain open for public use, but staff services outside will be limited unless deemed critical.
• All outdoor recreational programs are canceled until the air quality improves and will be monitored daily. For program updates, please call 208-468-5858.
The health and safety of our employees is our top priority. City officials are closely monitoring the air quality levels and are limiting outdoor functions until the Air Quality Index (AQI) reaches or drops below 200 for a consistent period of time.
“We realize this may inconvenience some residents and staff, but ensuring the safety of our employees is our top concern,” said Nampa Mayor Darl Bruner. “We hope conditions improve soon for our community so we can resume our normal operations.”
City staff will continue to monitor the situation and updates will be provided as they become available. Thank you for your understanding.
