We've made it to Wednesday already, and of course, there are several athletic events on our schedule. Our varsity boys and girls cross-country teams travel to Northwest Area HS this afternoon for their weekly cluster meet starting at 4:15. Back at home, junior high soccer hosts Hanover Area on the grass (baseball) field, also at 4:15. Junior high field hockey travels to Hazleton Area (1500 W. 23rd St. Hazleton) for a 4:45 game with the Lady Cougars. Junior high volleyball wraps up the day with a match at Abington Heights at 5:00. The match will be played at the Clarks Summit Elementary Gym (401 W. Grove St. Clarks Summit). Good luck to all our teams today!

Tuesday brings us another full slate of GNA athletic activities, so let's get started. Our junior high cross-country team has their first race of the season as they travel to the Luzerne County Rec Fields in Forty Fort for a cluster meet starting at 4:15. Junior high field hockey is on the road at Hanover Area for a 4:15 match against the Lady Hawks. Girls volleyball makes the quick turnaround from their big win last night and travel to Dallas for a 5:00 match with the Lady Mountaineers. As always, the JVs play first, followed by the varsity. Back at home, we have another doubleheader at Chicknosky Stadium First up is field hockey who host Berwick at 4:15. Later on, it's boys soccer as the Trojans take on Wyoming Area with kickoff set for 6:30. Good luck to all of our teams today!

We start the new week with a full schedule of GNA athletic events to get it going. First up is our golf team who tee it up with Lake Lehman at 3:30 at the Wilkes-Barre Municipal GC. It's the last home match for our seniors, Rocco, Brady, Ryan and Ethan and we wish them fairways and greens today and in their futures. Back at home, we have four events going on; something for everyone. First up, our junior high soccer team takes on MMI Prep on the grass field starting at 4:15. Across the parking lot, junior high football hosts Crestwood at Chicknosky Stadium, also at 4:15. Up in the Bozinski gym, girls volleyball battles Tunkhannock with the JVs starting at 4:30 and the varsity following. We wrap up the day with girls soccer taking on Wyoming Area at the stadium with kickoff set for 6:15. Take your pick and come out and support our athletes. Good luck to all of the teams today!

TROJAN FOOTBALL TAKES DOWN TUNKHANNOCK
Congratulations to our football team who defeated the Tigers 14-12 tonight in a thrilling come from behind victory. The Trojans trailed 12-0 late in the game but rallied to pick up their first win for Coach Shimko. Well done, men!

It's finally Friday and we've got two events to wrap up your week. First up is junior high volleyball who travel to Solomon/Plains Junior High School to take on Wilkes-Barre Area at 4:15. Back at home, it's Friday night lights as the Trojans host Tunkhannock in a WVC football matchup. It's a special night as we will be conduct a remembrance of September 11, 2001, as part of our "Salute to Service Night" at Frank Chicknosky Stadium. The ceremony will begin approximately 20 minutes prior to the game which is set for a 7:00 kickoff. We invite all active-duty and retired military from any branch of the service along with active and retired first responders to join us at the game and participate in the program. There will be no admission charged for those special guests. Just mention your affiliation at the gate. We would be honored to have you join us as we remember those who lost their lives, have bravely protected us and continue to courageously do so. The entire community is encouraged to come out and support our kids and our heroes. Good luck to our teams today!

Congratulations to our field hockey team who defeated Holy Redeemer 4-2 this afternoon. Well done, ladies. Shout out to boys soccer as well who remain undefeated on the season with their 0-0 draw with Pittston Area tonight.
