I’m taking a break from social media to take some time to reflect and reevaluate priorities. Lately, it feels like I only see perfection or negativity on social media. I enjoy the platforms but it appears to be bringing me down and wasting too much time.

No one is perfect, all knowing, or happy all of the time. Nothing is absolute nor true for all situations and all people. Even supposed positive posts are spun with a negative energy. Rather than connecting us, social media and the news seem to be divisive; as it makes me feel more alone, more fearful, and more doubtful.

That is my short little vent. Perhaps, it is just me but I need to take a break. I need to engage more in real life, with real people and real dialogue. Regardless of whether you care or not, I’ll see you on the flip side.

✅Sometimes we become experts in things that are quite trivial to be honest: fantasy sports, pop culture, tv shows or movies, etc. We can become very good at what we’re “paid” to do, yet neglect our own lives and habits.

👴At the end your life, what expertise is really going to matter? What values do you want to instill in your children? An understanding of living and dying? Insight into happiness and meaning to life? Positive life habits and memories? Or is your knowledge of today’s celebrity gossip important? Does the performance of your fantasy baseball team really matter? Is following the political news every single day for 50 years most critical?

👍This is just my personal opinion but I’d have to say none of those latter things is all that important in the end. As we trudge through life we often get lost in the fog and forget what really matters. Don’t lost sight of life’s necessities, or more importantly, the values and memories we want instilled in our kids.

Got the rope up outside and did some rope climbs in this one. This workout was interesting as you had 3 minutes to complete the exercises and the only ones counted were the max rep db step overs at the end of the interval. The workout continued indefinitely until you got 40 step overs.

We often put so much effort in finding the worth of our material possessions. Perhaps, we analyze and research to determine the value of our stocks, houses, cars, etc. We don’t want to be ripped off when it comes to financial concerns.
-
However, when it comes to our life principles and beliefs, we seem to be much more accepting of information, news, and conspiracies with little research.
-
Why do we accept something we heard once as fact? Why do we read one article or one post on social media and assume it is the truth? Our opinions, values, and beliefs seem so easily swayed without much validation.
-
We should treat our ruling principles in life as we do our material possessions. Research, analyze, and question the things we read and hear about. Come to your own conclusions with real logic and evidence so that you don’t “get ripped off” in your own life principles.
