Part 2

What a special day for our academy family. ❤️🥋

After more than 20 years away from poomsae competition and over 40 years away from sparring competition, we stepped back onto the competition floor today — with 15 of our students competing.

And for our very first time back, they came home with an incredible 18 GOLD and 16 SILVER medals! 🥇🥈

We are so proud of that accomplishment, but what made us even prouder wasn’t just the medals. It was watching our students find the courage to step out there, give their best, and keep going. There were wins, losses, nerves, some tears, excitement, and so many lessons learned — and through all of it, they showed heart, courage, and grit.

One of the best parts of the day was watching them support each other. Cheering for their teammates, encouraging one another, celebrating together, and being there when someone needed a little lift. That meant so much.

To our parents and families, thank you. You stayed for hours and hours. You cheered, waited, encouraged, and gave your children the opportunity to have this experience. Days like today wouldn’t happen without your support.

And having my sister there beside me helping coach made the day even more meaningful. ❤️ Nahnhy Hyong

We came home with 18 gold, 16 silver, 1 bronze and so much more than medals. We came home with experience, memories, lessons, confidence, and a stronger team.

To every one of our competitors: be proud of what you accomplished today. Remember how it felt to step out there and face something challenging. Take what you learned, get back to work, and set your eyes toward the next one.

After more than 40 years, this was a beautiful first step back — and one we will never forget.
