If you have a teen (15 years of age or older) or a college student home for the summer who’s interested in earning some extra cash by filling in for parent jobs at Brookdale Bucs swim meets, we’d love to add them to this year’s sub list! Just complete the 2026 Bucs Swim Meet Substitute Worker Interest Form to be added to the list. We’ll be sharing the list with Bucs families this week!

Happy Mother's Day to the NSC community. 💙

To the moms who set their alarms before the sun comes up so their swimmer makes it to practice on time. The ones who pack the bag, find the goggles, apply the sunscreen, and somehow still have a snack ready when the meet is over.

To the moms cheering from the pool deck with everything they have — learning heat sheets, memorizing lane numbers, and knowing exactly which splash belongs to their kid.

To the moms who sit in the quiet car on the way home after a tough meet and find exactly the right thing to say. And the ones who cry happy tears when their swimmer drops time — even just a tenth of a second — because they know what it took to get there.

To the moms who volunteer at the crack of dawn, run the concession stand, organize the pasta parties, decorate the cars, and make every team tradition possible behind the scenes.

To the moms cheering for every kid in the water — not just their own.

And to the moms who somehow make all of this look easy — we see you. Every early morning, every long meet day, every load of chlorine-soaked laundry. Every single bit of it.

The NSC doesn't run without you. And neither does summer. 🌊💙

TEAM SPOTLIGHT: Brookdale Bucs Swim Team ⚓

Some teams are built around a pool. The Brookdale Buccaneers are built around people. And since 1979, that's made all the difference.

🏆 A 2025 TO REMEMBER
The Bucs' girls finished first in points at the 2025 NSC City Championship Meet, and the team broke 10 team records in a single season. That's not a fluke — that's a program firing on all cylinders.

⚓ BIG BUC / LITTLE BUC
Older swimmers are paired with younger ones each season to build friendship and team spirit through posters, good luck cards, and favorite snack treats. The bonds formed through Big Buc/Little Buc last well into adulthood. That kind of culture can't be manufactured. It's earned, one summer at a time.

🦸 SUPER HERO & ANGIE STRONG NIGHT
Every summer, the Bucs honor Angie Beran — a beloved community member lost to breast cancer in July 2021. Families dress as superheroes, pink "Angie Strong" caps are sold, and proceeds support the Matt & Angie Beran Community Trust, helping families who have lost a parent stay on their educational and athletic paths. A special thank you to the Huntington Barracudas, who stand alongside them every year. 💙

🌊 MUSTANG MAYHEM — JUNE 13TH!
The Bucs are hosting the 2nd Annual Mustang Mayhem Invitational on June 13th at 8:30am! Open to all NSC and Trident swimmers who feed into Metea Valley High School. Visit their website for details.

Open to all — no neighborhood residency required. Once a Buc, always a Buc. ⚓💙

Registration is open for the 2nd Annual Mustang Mayhem Swim Invitational! This year's event is being held on Saturday, June 13 at 8:30am at Brookdale Pool.

This event is open to:

• Swimmers (ages 5 - 18) who feed into Metea Valley High School

• Metea Valley alumni, from teams across the Naperville Swim Conference and Trident Conference

• Swimmers from Stonebridge Sharks and Oakhurst North swim teams
