Don’t worry, our Audubon International Monarchs in the Rough program won’t cause TE to be taken over by the these butterflies! Southwest Florida is considered a “questionable migration route” with a small resident population.
If you thought it a bit chilly this morning you’re not alone. This Monarch caterpillar is taking full advantage of God’s solar heat plan and basking in its rays!
Hatched a few hours ago, it’s tough to dry your wings and fly on a rainy day.
Just waiting for this monarch to hatch!

I should be posting pictures of the different butterflies you’re likely to encounter around TwinEagles if you look for them but I had to share this photo first. It shows the miracle of life in various stages. If you look closely you can see eggs, eggs with caterpillars just beginning to emerge, empty eggs shells and newly hatched caterpillars on their way to feed. Blows me away!
