Did you know that the vagus nerve is the longest nerve within the autonomic nervous system?

This system handles regulating a variety of the body's processes' that take place without a conscious effort. This nerve originates on the surface of the brain but wanders throughout the body transmitting information to tissues and organs.

The vagus nerve activates the parasympathetic nervous system which allows the body to be less stressed and improve adaptability. Increasing vagal tone or vagus nerve activity is one the best ways to improve your overall wellness.

How can chiropractic care help stimulate the vagus nerve? The nerve sits anatomically in direct contact with your first cervical vertebra (the top of your neck) and can be stimulated by a chiropractic adjustment.

3 things that can help:

1️⃣ A routine that works for you.

Consider things like: What is your chronotype? (are you a morning or evening person?); what is your biological rhythm?

Adapt the routine to your needs.

2️⃣ Ask yourself some questions:

What are some things you would like to have as a part of your routine?

What actions would help you feel better and achieve your goals?

What positive habits would motivate you and give you more strength and energy?

3️⃣ Start small.

Start with small steps that are easy to implement, or pick one small thing each week to work on.

Why is an Infrared Sauna better than a Traditional Sauna?

Unlike a traditional sauna, infrared saunas don’t heat the air around you. Instead, they use infrared lamps (that use electromagnetic radiation) to warm your body directly.
