I’m going to get right to the point today.
Here are the three weight loss mistakes we see beginners make.
1. They set unrealistic goals for themselves.
A lot of people set goals because they have some type of ‘event’ coming up.
- A milestone birthday
- A wedding
- A trip
- Summer is coming
People have a set amount of weight they’d like to lose in their mind. It’s not the amount of weight that’s unrealistic, it’s the timeline that they’d like to lose it.
2. They go too hard at the start.
If I do more, I’ll get better results right? Right??
Nope.
Training 7 days per week will wear your body down. You’ll be exhausted!
You might keep this up for a month, maybe more, but eventually you’ll start to slip.
7 days, 3 days, 1 day/week, then nothing.
You’ll gain the weight back and you’re back to where you started.
3. They change everything at once.
Imagine starting a new job, going back to school, and having a kid all in the same week.
Probably wouldn’t go great…
So why do we think we can undo years of bad habits in the first week?
There’s too much friction for you to be successful.
If you can’t see yourself being able to stick with a plan for at least 12 months, you should rethink your plan.

Dry needling is a modern western medicine technique that uses needles that are inserted to a specific location through the skin into areas of the muscle called trigger points. HAVE FUN WHILE ACHIEVING YOUR FITNESS GOALS
Semi-Private Personal Training at FPT are designed to help you move better and feel healthier than ever before. Each program is modified for your training level. Our program and our community will motivate and encourage you.
Semi-Private Training is available from one to three times a week depending on your needs and availability. Each program is led from start to finish by a coach who will serve as your guide and motivation throughout the hour. The session begins with soft tissue work and movement quality with an emphasis on active stretching and muscle activation. A dynamic warmup into a plyometric circuit concludes the warmup and then we hit the training floor for three strength circuits incorporating multiplanar movements to ensure well-rounded strength. You will always finish the hour with heart-healthy conditioning which can be anything from pushing sleds, to riding bikes, to treadmill runs.
At FPT, we design and coach well-rounded programs to ensure health and longevity for our clients. Our programs are led from start to finish by coaches who will show and tell you how to correctly execute your workout. We’re looking forward to helping you on your journey!
