Being grateful can change everything. By focusing on what we do have instead of what we don’t, we create more goodness. Gratitude is really a mindset. It’s being thankful for all things. It’s appreciating the good and the bad. Yes! And not just appreciate, but also welcome trials because we know they can shape us in positive ways when we respond to them with an open mind and heart. Join us tomorrow as we infuse our yoga practice with gratitude. Thursday, 11/17 at 9am - Pelican Bay Park. Check out Lo's Yoga Naples for the full schedule.

Join me tomorrow, 9am @ Pelican Bay Park for Gentle Hatha yoga. With Thanksgiving right around the corner we will be focusing on gratitude.

Happy Halloween 🎃 👻 My little grandson Banks 💙 🥰😍

October is Depression and Mental Health Awareness Month. Our mental health is not unlike our physical health. We can’t just work really hard to reach a goal and then think we are done, we no longer need to work on it. We have to tend to it regularly. Hurricane Ian really rocked our world recently. Many lives have been forever changed. It has been A LOT to deal with. Physically, with the mass clean up efforts. But, also mentally, for those who relive it everyday due to the trauma they experienced, for those who have lost friends and loved ones, those who have lost their homes, those who have lost businesses, those who have lost employment, the list goes on. Yoga can help. One of the many ways yoga can help is through the breath work that we practice. It can help quite the mind and calm the central nervous system. It can truly help you find calm in the storm. Join me Tuesday 9am at Pelican Bay Community Park.

Temporary Class Location Changes

Temporary Class Location Changes We're creatively finding ways to continue our yoga practice. Please bare with us as we navigate through this all together.

It is difficult to comprehend the impact Ian has made on so many lives. Our hearts and prayers are with those who have lost so much. The sirens continue to sound. They have not stopped since the very moment the storm settled enough for first responders to disperse. The sound of search and rescue choppers have filled the air. My prayers to those being rescued and my gratitude to the brave souls doing the recusing. Through all of this, grateful is a word I’ve heard over and over. Not only ringing in my own 2 ears but from the mouths of all those I have spoken with. While we are all incredibly saddened by things lost due to Hurricane Ian, It’s important for us remember things gained….new faith, new friendships, kindness from strangers, faith expressed through others. The gratitude list goes on. The lives lost will not be forgotten. It makes me even more grateful for the lives of those spared. The memories we have cannot be taken. Hopefully you can take a few moments to think of few things you are grateful for right now.

Join me tomorrow, Thursday, at 9am on Vanderbilt Beach for a Gentle Hatha class. Cost is only $10 per class. Bring you towel, water and sunscreen.
Make sure that all you do you do and how you do it is done in peace and harmony. Your vibrations effect others.

Although it will be hard to leave my family & friends in Texas this week, I am excited to see my Florida family & friends next week! Starting Wednesday the 21st I’ll be back at The Strand for Aqua Sculpt and Thursday the 22nd I’ll be back at Vanderbilt Beach for Gentle Hatha Yoga.

If we’re not careful, we can let other peoples opinions and negative attitudes drag us down. But remember, there’s always a different way to look at things (like the bright 😎 side). Even when things around you are looking 👀bleak ⛈, remind yourself that looks can be deceiving. Reality is, there are just some people that see the glass half empty, you can choose to see it half full. This world 🌎 IS a beautiful place. Filled with beautiful people 👨🏼‍🍳🧑‍🎤👩🏽‍🌾, places 🌄🏞 and things. Decide how you want to see 😉

While I am having a blast here in Texas waiting for my first grand baby, I am also missing all of my students in Florida. Sending love and hugs 🤗

❤️❤️Living Authentically❤️❤️
Not always easy. In fact, often in can seem quite difficult 😰 It takes courage to be authentic, to be your whole self. To be fulfilled and successful we have to bring all of our gift, talents, fears, doubts, insecurities, our heart, our soul. The things that matter most to us. Yes, this does involve a lot of courage. Brenea Brown says, “You can’t get to courage without walking through vulnerability.” Vulnerability! Yikes 😱 that can also be hard right? Because it doesn’t always feel good, it’s uncomfortable, it’s scary. There are many reasons for that that discomfort. On a superficial level - we don’t want to look bad, we don’t want other people to judge us. On a deeper level, it’s hard because we’ve all experienced pain, disappointment & loss in our lives. So, we hold back. It takes courage to be vulnerable. The bottom line for many when it comes to being authentic is that we’re scared. We don’t want to deal with what we’ve imagined to be the consequences of authenticity- people’s judgements or reactions, our own fears and doubts, possible failure or rejection, the list goes on. The more we can get in touch with our own personal difficulties with being authentic, the more able and willing we’ll be to move past whatever is stopping us from being real. Live a meaningful, fulfilling life, face your fear, speak your truth and be fully authentic!

How do you spend your time? Do you feel as though you’re constantly spinning your wheels? Or, are you mindful in choosing how you spend your time each day? It’s important to remind ourselves that sometimes, it’s ok to say no. Especially if we are asked to do something that doesn’t align with our purpose. We don’t have to be everything to everyone. We can’t be. We need only to be true to ourselves. And in my humble opinion, it’s only when we are being true to ourselves, authentically showing up in the world, in ways that we were designed for, that we can truly make a difference in the lives of others and in the world. So when it comes right down to it, it’s actually our responsibility to set boundaries and to say no sometimes. Why? Because if we continue to say yes to everyone and everything, we are left on empty. Drained of our time and energy. Leaving us unable to do the things that we want and, in fact, are meant to do. I spent most of my life trying to please others. Saying yes to everything that was asked of me. I ended up depleted, defeated and depressed. And when you end up like that, what do you really have left to give? In my experience, not much. Stay true to you my friends❣️Don’t burn yourself out trying to do everything for everyone. Choose to do the things that really matter to you. ❤️

Are you dreaming of a new life? Or even a small change in your existing life. Reality is, our life is not like the TV show, I Dream of Jeannie or Sabrina the Teenage Witch. We can’t rely on magic to get us where we want to be in life. Cultivating the life we dream of requires making space for what we need. Making space isn’t all that easy, in fact it is usually hard. Making this space will require letting go of the things that no longer serve us or our higher purpose. In other words, things that take our energy, drain us mentally and emotionally, cause us to doubt ourselves, etc.
I like to think of them as the things that don’t feed our soul with goodness, lift our spirit and set us on the path to our higher purpose. This could be anything, a habit, a person, a possession, a fear, a perception, a negative thought pattern, the list goes on. These things may have served a purpose in the past but are no longer necessary. They may be hard to let go of because of the small payoffs they’ve given us in the past (sadness may have received sympathy, anger may have received a payoff of feeling right). They are things that are familiar and they make us comfortable, complacent and attached. But these small payoffs don’t serve us in the bigger picture of what we’re working to cultivate. In fact, they’re taking up precious space. The space we need in order to allow new things in to our lives. Although letting go of these familiar things will be uncomfortable, let’s try to see this discomfort as a gift. Instead of avoiding how this discomfort makes us feel, let’s be present with all of the emotions that come up, the good, the bad and the ugly. Learn from them, and then use this new information to serve a purpose in our future choices. Letting go of something means opening our arms to something new which can be scary because of the unknown. But that is where growth happens and where we start to tap in to our potential. And once we start to tap into our potential…🤩🤩🤩

Some people think surrender means to give up or give in. But surrendering is like finding your current and allowing yourself to flow with it instead of against it - like a salmon swimming upstream.
Surrender is also knowing that, even when we find and are flowing with our stream, there will still be challenges along the way. Part of the surrender at that point doesn’t mean giving in or giving up. It’s acknowledging and accepting them for their purpose in the bigger picture. Surrender is continuing to evolve in and through these challenges.
