Do injuries happen in martial arts.....?

To pull the stinger out of the bee, yes they do.

However, injuries can happen anytime, anywhere, while doing anything.

One of the aspects of martial arts that we focus on is safety.

Safety for:

Falling
Jumping
Getting pushed
Getting punched
Getting kicked
Having to defend ourselves

We practice all of the scenarios in a safe environment under the supervision of professionals.

Can injuries happen.... Yes.

Think about this though.

How much worse would it be if one of those scenarios happened in real life without the practice to minimize the consequences?

It. Would. Be. Catastrophic.

Can someone ask the fact checkers of this is true?😜😅

One of my absolute favorite things about being a parent..... Is that my kids ALWAYS keep me on my toes. 😂

Have you ever caught yourself parenting your own attitude out of your child?

"I remember when I was a child just starting out in martial arts.....
I couldn't figure out why conditioning was so important. 😅

100's of sit-ups.
100's of push-ups
100's of squats.

Ugh... day in and day out for YEARS! 😜
Now that I'm an adult with a family of my own... it all makes sense.

I can run, jump, play, and move.
I'm healthy.
I feel young.
I'm never too tired to play with my children.
I. Feel. Amazing."

Master Isaacs said this after a student was complaining about a few push-ups during the warm-up part of the class.

We think he nailed the point. 😅

Good attention VS bad attention. 😇👿

Children love attention.

Here's the thing... They go for whatever form of attention is readily available and easier to get.

We call it the "low hanging fruit". 🍎

We've found that the more opportunities you give a child to earn good attention the better.

Through time they learn to validate through the good rather than the bad.

That's why our three pillar success formula works so well.

Secret parenting hacks to helping kids process emotions. 👈

Emotions are energy, not good or bad.

Normal and natural.

It's what you do with the energy that matters. 💥

1. Create awareness through conversation.

Help talk the kiddo through what they're experiencing, emotions can be very confusing, especially if they're experiencing it for the first time.

2. Give them something to do with the energy.

Physical exercise is a great alternative.

3. Lead with your emotions.

They'll learn their habits by watching you. Show them how you process your emotions in a constructive way.

Is it okay to be afraid?

Of course!

Fear is a totally natural emotion to experience.

The important part is what we do when we run into that emotion.

Do we run? Do we hide? Or.... do we turn and face it?

Martial arts teaches us all three of these by the way. 😜

Sometimes it's better to walk away from a fight. 🎯
Sometimes we may need to hide for our own safety. 🎯
Sometimes we need to turn and face that bully. 🎯

The key is to practice when is the proper time to do any of these while in a safe well-managed environment.
