๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ This Memorial Day, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’™

As families gather to enjoy the sunshine, pool days, and time together, letโ€™s also remember the importance of water safety.

Always swim with active supervision, stay within armโ€™s reach of young children, wear life jackets when appropriate, and stay alert around the water.

Wishing everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day weekend

As parents, we do everything we can to protect our children but when it comes to water, drowning is fast, silent, and more common than most people realize.

๐——๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐˜„๐—ป๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—ถ๐˜€ ๐—ฎ ๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—ฐ๐—ฎ๐˜‚๐˜€๐—ฒ ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ฐ๐—ถ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ต ๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ด ๐—ฐ๐—ต๐—ถ๐—น๐—ฑ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ป, especially ages 1โ€“4, and it often happens when a child was not expected to be near water. It only takes seconds, and it rarely looks like the splashing or yelling we see in movies

Thatโ€™s why water safety is not just one thing it is layers of protection working together:

โœ… Active, constant adult supervision with eyes on the water at all times
โœ… Pool fences with self latching gates and secure locks
โœ… Door and window alarms for added awareness
โœ… Swim lessons that teach real water safety and survival skills
โœ… CPR knowledge so you are prepared in an emergency
โœ… Removing toys from the water to reduce temptation

๐Ÿ‘™ Even something as simple as swimsuit color plays a role
Bright, high visibility colors like neon pink, orange, yellow, and red are much easier to see both above and below the water
Blues, greens, and darker colors can blend into pool water, lakes, or the bottom, making it harder to quickly spot a child

โ€ผ๏ธ No single layer is enough on its own
Not life jackets, not swim lessons, not pool fences and not even bright swimsuits
They all work together, but nothing replaces active supervision

Water safety is about preparation, awareness, and staying one step ahead
Because when it comes to drowning, prevention truly saves lives โค๏ธ

Are YOU ready to make a ๐‘บ๐‘ท๐‘ณ๐‘จ๐‘บ๐‘ฏ this summer? โ˜€๏ธ

Before the cannonballs, beach days, and pool parties begin, letโ€™s make sure your family is set up for a safe and confident season around the water. Hereโ€™s a simple way to remember the most important water safety habits:

๐’ = Swim Lessons
Formal swim lessons build confidence, teach life saving skills, and help children learn how to safely respond in the water not just float or paddle

๐ = Put Away Toys & Put Up Ladders
Toys left in or near the pool can attract children back to the water. Always clear them out and remove or secure ladders when the pool is not in use

๐‹ = Life Jackets
Use properly fitted, Coast Guard approved life jackets around open water like lakes, oceans, or boats. Floaties are not a substitute for safety

๐€ = Adult Always Watching
Designate a โ€œwater watcherโ€ with no distractions. Drowning is quick and silent, so constant, focused supervision is key

๐’ = Shut All Gates
Make sure pools are surrounded by a secure fence with self latching gates. This is one of the most effective ways to prevent accidents

๐‡ = How to Rescue
Adults and older kids should know what to do in an emergency. Reach or throw, donโ€™t go and learn CPR so youโ€™re prepared to act quickly if needed

Water safety is all about layers of protection. No single step replaces another, they all work together to keep kids safer around water

Letโ€™s keep summer fun AND safe ๐Ÿ’™
Tag a swim buddy and make sure they know how to ๐‘บ๐‘ท๐‘ณ๐‘จ๐‘บ๐‘ฏ safely!

That is one of the most dangerous thoughts when it comes to drowning prevention.

The reality is that drowning can happen quickly, silently, and often when it is least expected. Many incidents happen when children were never supposed to be near the water in the first place.

Young children are naturally curious. It only takes a moment, which is why layers of protection are so important.

One of the biggest layers of protection around a home pool is a properly working safety gate.

Take a minute today to check yours:

โœ”๏ธ Is it self closing?
โœ”๏ธ Is it self latching?
โœ”๏ธ Does it fully close and latch on its own every single time?

Open the gate and let it go. Test it more than once. Do not assume it is working properly.

Pool gates, active supervision, swim lessons, alarms, and water safety education all work together to help protect children around water.

This Drowning Awareness Month, take the extra step to make your home safer ๐Ÿ’™

Give us a ๐Ÿ‘ if your gate is working properly or a ๐Ÿ’™ if you are making changes to improve your pool safety.

Happy Motherโ€™s Day ๐Ÿ’

Today we celebrate all the amazing moms and mother figures who pour so much love, patience, and care into the little ones in their lives. I am so lucky to see that love every day through this business, whether itโ€™s cheering from the poolside, jumping in to help, or simply showing up with endless support.

To every mom and every mother figure, thank you for all that you do. You are seen, appreciated, and so deeply valued ๐Ÿค

Letโ€™s dive into safety together this season โ˜€๏ธ

The most important way to help prevent drowning?

When your child is in or near the water, your eyes should always be on them not your phone, not a conversation, not a distraction. Drowning is quick and silent, and it can happen in seconds, even in shallow water.

A few simple reminders that make a big difference:

โ€ข Designate a โ€œwater watcherโ€ so someone is always actively supervising
โ€ข Stay within armโ€™s reach of young or inexperienced swimmers
โ€ข Avoid distractions like phones, conversations, or alcohol while supervising
โ€ข Know what drowning actually looks like itโ€™s often quiet with little splashing
โ€ข Learn basic water rescue skills and CPR so youโ€™re prepared in an emergency

Water safety is not just one action itโ€™s layers of protection working together. Active supervision is one of the most important layers you can provide

Stay safe, stay aware, and make every splash a safe one ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿ’ฆ SWIM TIP TUESDAY ๐Ÿ’ฆ

The fastest your child will ever move through the water is right after they push off the wall or dive in using a strong streamline position. This position keeps the body long, tight, and narrow, creating the least amount of resistance, just like a torpedo or dolphin gliding through the water.

As swimmers grow and advance, we continue to build on streamline by adding different kicks like flutter kick and dolphin kick. This helps develop muscle memory, core strength, and shoulder flexibility, all of which are key for efficient swimming.

A strong streamline isnโ€™t just about arms overhead. It also includes squeezing the ears with the arms, engaging the core, keeping legs straight and together, and pointing the toes. Head position matters too. Eyes should look down, not forward, to help keep the body flat and horizontal at the surface.

The better the streamline, the less energy your swimmer uses and the stronger and smoother theyโ€™ll move through the water.
