This thing has been in my head for a long time. I should be able to sn**ch this weight. Trouble was the first time I tried a high pull I nearly dropped the bell. I was terrified I was going to damage the lot. Today I took her out in the grass and 🎉up she went. I’m going to have a little party here with myself and then get back to work 😆.

Back when I was a tiny baby bike advocate there were two camps. The “we belong on the road camp”, and the “we need separate trails and lanes” camp. The trails and lanes group was largely successful (especially if you look to my home town of Indianapolis). But south Florida is a different beast. Education and legislation would have been necessary for “we belong on the road”-I’m starting to think that may have been preferable. Naples Pathways Coalition

Let’s just go for a bike ride
I’ve worked in the bike business for, as near as makes no difference, 30 years. In that time I’ve watched the bicycle industry throw themselves into each new fad (some of which were created by them) to the exclusion of their core customer.
At the end of 2018 I closed the traditional bike shop I owned for 16 years (it had existed for 50), and decided to try something different.
I decided I was just going to sell the products that I wanted to sell. Products that I thought were of the highest quality. Products that bring value to the customer.
I sell bicycles that are comfortable, versatile, functional and fun to ride. No racing bikes, no lycra, no special shoes and no special clothes-not that there’s anything wrong with those things if that’s what you’re into. I just think most of us just want to go for a bike ride. The industry lost sight of that somewhere along the line. That’s what I think anyway.
